Default Getting your car modded to the max

I have a problem , i have a 1996 prelude srv , sure its a nice car but i noticed that there is no replacment for displacment when it comes to engines. I have been street racing for a long time , before i got into the import thing i had a poitiac Lemans or optima , it was a crap car but it was light and i when to a few junk yards and managed to bull a good turbo of a 1989 daytona . I also have a custom exhust manafold installed on the car cuase u cant get part for that car. That car was fast , 1.6 letter stock , i was busting like 12 psi and i think i was pussing at least 200 hp at the crank. But now i have a prelude and its so expensive to do much with it . I got the car for 8 grand with 130 km on it greate condition form a guy being deported. The parts u can get for the car cost an arm and a leg really
and the horse power gains minimal .

MY set up

h22 2.2 vtec
cold air custom intake , with ram air piping ( works on the highway good)
DC sports headers
lightend fly wheel
rc injectors
custom fule rail and presure regulator

But even with all these mods , playing tag on the highway at night i noticed that i
can take most imports easly its with bigger cars like v8 that i have a problem with.
These cars usualy pull away alot better then my car , it forces me to downshift and hit speeds off 180kmph before they either give up or give cash when they usualy top me out. I want a turbo , but these are to expensive for me to buy. The
whole import thing is crap , we need company that can make cheap turbos ( its possible with mass production) and parts that really make a difference NO MORE 2 GRAND ON A EXHUST THAT MAKE 12HP when u can get a whole v8 in good condition that make 320 HP........

What are you talking about? If you are bitching because you are getting smoked by V8s in a mildly modified NA car, you had better get used to it. Get nitrous or a turbo if you want to keep up and expect to be building your motor if you ever want to beat them.

Cheap : Reliable : Fast

Pick two

I am going with Reliable and fast..
spending about $4k on a turbo kit and goodies, then another $4k on a bottom end build up..
At the end of this year, I hope to be pushing almost 400 to the wheels and knocking on 11's door..

why did you pay 2 grand for an exhaust, man you got ripped off. There are a few basic ways to get your car to run with a V8 mustang, camaro etc.. Turbo, Nitrous, or a supercharger. Speed costs money no way around that. It's possible to get a N/A honda to run 13's maybe even high 12's but it's really going to cost you even more.

Other way around. Products for the chevy small block and the 4.6/5.0 Ford motors are dirt cheap compared to the money we pay for parts for hondas. Not to mention their $ per HP ratio is something we can only dream about.

Well i see that most of u didnt get the point , THE WHOLE IMPORT THIS IS TO MAKE MONEY AND NOTHING MORE.. man i go to any speed shop i see it , 30 for cheap plast honda logo , that cost 2 cents to make...

import cars are in general a whole when it comes to performance , we are paying close to 10 grand to get a 100 more hp if we are lucky or using NITROUS to get that 50 to 75 hp for a few seconds.

The whole import thing was cool before it got so big now its just BIG BUISNESS for suckers. After Fast & the Fucked up hit the screens , killing kid who cant drive and ask stupid questions

HEY I HAVE A PRELUDE AND WANT TO PULL 9"S WHAT DO I NEED ?

A FUCKEN INVESTMENT BANKER JOB OF 100 YEARS IN BURGER KING TO aford it

Turbos can be cheap , a turbo dose not have that many moving parts , and a turbo alone cost about 600 to 800 , so why are turbo kits 3999. Dont tell me injectors and piping costs that much.... WE ARE ALL GETTING SUCKERD

Chalk me up as one of those that doesn't get your point either dude. Speed costs money, no matter what you're driving, but if you wanted to run stock 12's you obviously bought the wrong car. If I can just get my car to realize some or most of it's potential in all aspects and still be daily driveable, I'll be happy. If that means that I ultimately won't be able to smoke GT's, SS's and Vette's, then so be it, I know that I'm not driving a racecar.

Things cost what they cost, that's a fact of life; you gotta pay to play. I haven't noticed prices going up any because of the new mainstream fascination with imports, if anything more products have become available since more manufacturers have realized there's money to be made off of us, or people like us. Stop bitching, make the most out of what you have and accept your car for what it is, or go buy a Cobra.

I got a great idea.....Why dont you make a CUSTOM exhust manafold for your lude, BULL a good turbo off a 89' daytona. Then you have yourself a fast car, as you plainly put it..
Dont come here thinking you know your shEt, building a import takes MONEY, and alot of it. It cost alot way before F&TF, and it still cost alot today. And just like others said, If you dont have the money GO buy a Ruststang...Bye bye tintin11

1. Capitalism. It's what makes the world go around.
2. What the hell were you looking at Honda logos for?
3. $10k will get you a built motor and a nicely set up turbo. With a built motor and a turbo the sky is the limit. 100 extra hp isn't ****.
4. You're thinking too small.
5. Then leave. We won't miss you.
6. Yeah, pretty much.
7. A **** load of weight reduction, a bad *** suspension set up, slicks, a built motor, and a big *** turbo. Going tube chassis wouldn't hurt either. 9s in a FWD street car doesn't happen. Sorry man.
8. Some knowledge of cars would help too.
9. Eh, I run nitrous. I'm happy.

i still have to say, people are talking about High HP #'s, thats not really what matters, for instance a 4000pound 500hp V8 , i bet is very comparable to a 250hp 2500pound 4banger.....its all weight to power ratio, com'on u guys, yeah its easy to make a V8 run 11's but you have to think they have been building these motors for over 40years now and tunning the **** out of them. Honda's are only about 10 years into it, just give it time, and they will catch up.
