What do I do? Need help quick.
Okay so I went and put on some neuspeed sport springs but I have 215/40/17's on there and I guess I overestimated it... now I get some rubbing on the rear tires... I need to know the best fix for this problem. Money isn't the concern right now, getting it solved is the priority. I guess I have the following options:
A) get some 215/35/17's
B) get some 205/40/17's
C) get some aftermarket shocks? i don't really quite grasp that concept yet though.
D) roll my fenders... ghetto?
E) sell the springs and buy something else that isn't as low. 1.75/1.5 is too much.
F) something else i haven't thought of?
Please let me know what I can do about this problem. Maybe I need to do a couple things listed above like tires and shocks. Thanks.

i dont see why it would be rubbing its not like its a far drop .
anyway id roll the lips ,t hats the best bet , well the easiest. id actually sell the springs and get coilovers though.

205/40-17s work on a teg w/o rubbing. You could swap to coilovers which might allow you to find the sweet spot between lowering & rubbing. You could look into spacing your wheels from your wheel hubs.
Coilovers suck to be adjusted. They're a real pain in the ***. Just roll the fenders and take out the plastic trim that's on there too. That should help. Don't space your wheels out either that will only make it worse.
they arent that bad . . . . well GC;s are kinda easy, skunks can be a pain in the *** sometimes.
you get used to it , it takes a few minutes.

Aftermarket shocks may help if they are rubbing when you hit a big bump, if they are rubbing on small bumps and such, then new shocks would not help, however In my opinion you should get aftermarket shocks with any kind of drop. (KYB/Koni/Tockico). What about smaller Rims?

new shocks to compliment your springs will always be a good idea, but switching out to 205/40/17's would be a better bet. the 205/40/17 will rub either not rub or rub less in comparison to what u have rite now.. but i seriously doubt that with the sport springs and those tires that you would rub. the 205 is a decent width tire as well so don't feel any remorse about that... hell i jus bought new 205's. haha.
As for rollng the fender... i wouldn't do it... there is no clean way of undoin it later if you change something in ur setup and u want it to look the way it originally did.

why would you want to unchange the fender roll ? you dont see it , its like blocked by the wheel ? i dunno thta commnet didnt make a bit of sense
It's rubbing on everything. I can barely drive with just me in the car. It rubs whenever I make a turn when the weight shifts. The only time it doesn't rub is on long straightaways with no bumps; if there's a bump then it'll rub if i'm going over 15mph. same with turning, can't take turns any faster than that...
it just seemed logical when i was putting the springs on cause the wheel well gap was huge. the only other rims i have are the stock 15's and i don't want to put those back on. it looks so much better with the 17's. though i must admit, i used to have the 195/55/15 with neuspeed race springs and it was perfect. no rubbing ever and the wheel well was perfect.

is 205/40/17 gonna be a better bet than 215/35/17? it would definitely be a lot cheaper... but i thought i would get more space with the 35's. i don't know. this is such a pain.
maybe i just need to sell the springs and camber kit and buy some boring sofsport springs or something.

GC's are pretty easy to adjust... but in your case i'd take remover the plastic and roll the fenders. i have 17's with 215/40 tires with a 1 1/4" drop, and i've done this to my car. if you think this is too ghetto then you could possibly raise it a bit. If that doesn't work, don't pack that many peeps in the back seat, since it's only supposed to seat 2...

Well I went and put on the 205/40's and that seems to have completely solved my problem. Now the question is, how much weight can you actually support in your car without rubbing?
Again that'll be specific to your car. It will depend on wheel offset, spring rates, ride height, #/weight of passengers...etc. I don't notice any rubbing at all on my GSR w/ GC coilovers and about 1 1/2 finger ride height.
i never carry more than 2 people in my car which includes me... but i do carry some serious weight in the back sometimes. i'm hoping i can pull it off okay with the new 205/40/17's and the neuspeed sports. wouldn't some new shocks help in case it doesn't all work out?
or am i being totally stupid and dunno wat fender rolling is?? i don't think so anyways...
Typically you can gain enough clearance provided you're not GROSSLY off the mark in terms of ride height, tire width and wheel offset by ditching the plastic fender edge liner, and rolling the fender edge. This does not mean flaring the fender itself, which a lot of people choose to do for appearance or to allow for much more tire clearance. You can pick up a fair bit of clearance by rolling just the lip, so it is not noticable unless you look up close but may give you adequate fender clearance when the tires tuck up into the body under bumps and cornering.
