Default Boosted F22 - niedejb, I'm interested in your setup.

Niedejb, I checked out everything you posted about your setup including your website. I'm really interested in how your setup is running for you.

Have you taken it to the track to see what kind of times your car is posting ?
Are you running 10 psi daily or have you changed that ?
Have you done anything to your suspension to help keep that power to the ground ?

I'd like to compare setups and possibly share ideas on the buildup. I'm in FL btw.

Not to hijack this thread, but if you are interested in doing a buildup I have a build bottom end if your interested in it. It has been sleeved by RS Machine, who sleeves Jojo Callos motors and Erick Aguilars motors. The block has never been run and comes with wiseco custom pistons.

I'm hoping this becomes a nice discussion about F22B turbo setups, i'd like to have such a discussion

Never been to a track.

Was running 10psi daily. I'm now down putting together a golden eagle sleeved block. Should be back in by the end of the month.

No suspesion work yet.

Let me know if you have specific questions and I'll address em.

So you have been running 10psi daily, ever ran more than that or were you not bothered to tune that high?

How did you find traction, when trying to get a good launch was it a problem?

I ran 13 psi on the dyno and two other times that I can think of. (BTW stock internals looked immaculate when I pulled the head for the new build).

Traction is non existant. I have really hard goodyear HP ultras (360 wear rating). Need to get drag radials for new setup.

wow, and you werent even tuning with a standalone

So maybe boosting 13psi for runs/track instead of 10 is a possibility..i will most likely keep 6psi on the street for daily driving

Traction non-existent...well i guess it wont be the negative camber that ruins my tyres in that case after all

I wouldnt even bother with 6psi.

You've been listening to the high compression gurus.

For how long had you run 10psi daily? (length of time & milage)

Have no idea.

Long enough to know I wanted a sleeved setup. ~10000 miles?

heheheh 6psi is mainly so i have a little better economy and easier to drive in traffic. Nothing to do with compression

In fact its been amazing the number of people here that dont think the engine will take 10psi safely 'because the compression hasnt ben lowered'

I will be using a piggy-back (well, its kinda like a Hondata i think) that is new to the market to control fuel/ignition...i really dont think i will be grenading the engine even if i do run it at 10psi all day long

You could get a KIA for this.

A Kia doesnt quite look as stylish though

Seriouly though, regular unleaded fuel was $1.09 per litre here this morning, that equates to about US$2.43 per gallon in your speak. So it is a concern ATM.

Speaking of which, what is the octane in your fuel? Ours is 91 for regular, 95 for premium and 98 for the best stuff

As far as the octane goes, what method do they use to determine octane? is it (R+M)/2 because I live in Texas and our gas is 87 for standard, 89, and 91 for premium

And also...gas is 1.69 for premium here...and that is after a sharp rise in gas cost

I believe the method to determine octane is the same world-wide isnt it?

Indeed our cost have risen about 20 cents per litre over the last 2 weeks...yet the price of oil per barrel hasnt risen that much, go figure

So you guys run on lower quality than us by the looks of things?Funny that, apparently the reason that we get de-tuend cars here is the poor quality of our fuel (ie the fact that it isnt 100 octane like Japan). Seems like a load of crap to me now

what's the verdict here..? i know accords have low compression and can withstand 10 psi... but i've been told that more boost will cause faster wear and tear on any honda motor... now niedejb is saying his motor looked fine... compression can't be the only factor here... so if niedejb can boost 10 psi daily, is it safe to say i can do the same (considering my motor is in good condition)..?

Yes boost will be harder on your car than being NA.

Tune it and maintain it and youll be fine.

Your "more boost" comment is relative to what? More than 1psi? More than 6psi? (Where did you get your info?)

Any time you increase the horsepower that an engine produces you increase wear on components

Don't forget about fuel. Sure, the stock interals may be fine for boost, but will the stock fuel setup supply enough fuel.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but lack of fuel = running lean = high probability for detonation = blown engine = bad.

What I'm getting at is, even with stock internals you need to do something to the fuel setup to get the right amount of fuel in.

BTW, I'm just starting on a turbo setup for my f22b vtec.
