Recently, (as in this winter)

my itr muffler upon startup rattles a bit, and then turns to a rattle/resonance until the car warms up...then its perfect and back to normal when the operating temp is regular. I know its not my heat sheilds/hangers....its definitely the muffler.

Has anyone else had this? I am guessing there is no fix?

 

r u sure its your muffler and not ur cat or bpipe? if youre sure..then it doesnt look like theres anything u can do about it if its not your hangers. heat shield doesnt even apply to the muffler section. so if its not your hangers, then it would have to be the muffler. oh well, at least its only when you warm up right.

 

true. maybe tomorrow i will double check it isn't the hangers...but i'm almost positive its the muffler cuz if i give it a little gas it goes away and then returns as the idle comes back to "warm up mode"

 

go outside your car tomorrow and listen from outside to pinpoint the exact location, then we can work from there.

 

mine does the same thing...it only did it when i got a hi flow cat though

 

i've had many exhaust rattles...just got a new one recently. Here's the list of mine:
loose bolt/s somewhere in the cat back piping
leaky/hole in the muffler or piping
heat shields
and more heat shields.......

 

i had this same problem and it was my cat.....so try that maybe?.....just my.02 cents....-Roger

 

My N1 does the same thing also
