I have to remove and install new bumpers on a 98 civic and I have no experience doing this. Whats involved in doing this...I mean how does the skin actually attach? is it just clips or pins? i have no idea. and do you need any tools for it?

any help at all would be great...thanks

 

Its not that tough. On my 5th gen hatch all you need
is a philips head screw driver.

 

No clips just screws. 5 under the hood (on the black strip). 1 in each fender under the splash guard. Same thing with the back (minus the splash guard)

 

Actually:

2-screws
2-bolts
7-2piece plastics push in clips

Screws towards front of fenders.
Bolts under the bumer between the tow hooks.
Clips along the top of bumper under the hood.

You will need a #2 phillips, a 10mm wrench or socket/wratchet, and a small flathead to pop out the clips.

It is very easy as I have done it too many times on my EK.

P.S. this is only for the front, I have never taken off the back.
