Well, I finally finished paying off my prelude to my rents (only about the last year in paychecks), thank god thats over. anyways, I've been wanting to take off the H emblem and the stupid DOHC VTEC sticker as well as the PRELUDE emblem...

I've never done anything like this before so i was wondering what i might need to do the job, or if i should get it professionally done... but im VERY low on cash, so if i could id rather make it a at home kinda job. thanks

 

the H has holes behind it, the rest are just stickers, just peel them off (easier said then done) and wax and buff where they were

 

I've had my emblems and DOHC VTEC sticker removed from 5th gen. It looks pretty damn clean that way, IMO---but as far as doing it goes, I had it a lil easier. My body kit rear didn't have Prelude letters, and my CF hood didn't have the emblem. The only emblem I had to remove was the trunk lid, but I had a shop fill the holes and such when I got it repainted

So on stock hood and trunk, you're gonna have to fill the holes, and with the Prelude letters, I've read that people have removed them by wedging dental floss or fishing line behind each letter and working there way down till it comes off. However, I think there's the residue and stuff left over so you'll have to buy some kind of cleaner to get it off afterwards...Somebody else may wanna post their thoughts on this, since I haven't actually done it

 

dang, so the PRELUDE on my rear is only a sticker? haha, thats good. ill try the hairdrier tomorrow. is it possible that i take off teh H emblems on my trunk and hood and fill and paint the holes by myself? or should i have a shop do it so they can fill and paint the holes?

 

If you have any body man skillz I'd say go for it, but if you don't wanna hassle, take it to the shop, it wont cost much at all. Though it's not too hard to do, getting the color matching and even without overspray and buffing out the clear coat takes a lil knowledge to start with. I'd leave it to the shop personally, to get it done right the first time (body work anyways---anything else and you better be under the hood yourself)

 

heh, all engine worke is done by yours truly. i get scared when i even THINK about other ppl messin with my stuff. any idea how much gettin 4 tiny holes filled and painted would cost? just a ballpark im lookin for.

 

Get some GooGone at homedepot and the filler for the holes and your good to go. Fairly easy and just buy some touchup paint then your straight

 

What method can I use to take off the DOHC VTEC sticker on the trunk lid? Mine is old and nasty.
