Stand Alone Fuel Management System
What exactly do these do? How much do they really retail for? There not 10 grand like in The Fast and the Furious are they? Also, I searched and couldn't find anything, so please don't flame me.
I'm not going to flame you, but try your search again.........make sure you search the archives and just search for "standalone" you WILL get good results.....
Full standalones are not that expensive, why do u ask "like in fast and teh furious"? Movies & TV are not reality!
But i would research the full standalone that u want. The top two would ahve to be the autronic and the motec. I've never used hondata but it seems like a nice piggy back.

What they really do. Why are they better than the stock way. How much they retail for, and which one is really good. Just basically everything I can find out. I don't really know that much about engines, but I want to learn, because I want to build my own B18C5 engine. So any help is good. Thanks.

i was once where you were, so ill help you out. basically to put it short they make sure youre engine is getting enough fuel so you dont **** up your car. im going to be getting hondata, it has a lot of nice features and from what i hear is pretty easy to tune. my hondata is going to be 1045 with everything, but there are a lot of other choices like aem ems, afc, other ones that were already mentioned. check out hondata.com.
check out the AEM ems. They normally retail around 1200-1300 or so. Check out: http://www.aempower.com and go to the sport compact site. Then clik on the link for the aem programable engine management systems and read up.
