Default What's your opinion on ROTAs?

Thinkin about getting Rota Grids (Volk Racing TE37 style rims) but have heard mixed opinions on their quality. Any suggestions would help. THanks.

Cheap, looks good, semi-reliable. If I were going all our track or something, I'd spring for the originals, but I'm a budget and this is my daily driver... I think my next wheels will be the grids as well.

personally i like rota wheels even tho a lot of there wheels are copies of other wheels...i like them because the look good and they have a function (being pretty lightweight). i'm trying to get the rota circuit 8s...why pay +$1000-$2000 for mugen wheels when u can get the same thing for basically the same weight at the fraction of the price

people are going to say they're the same thing...and that's my ONLY problem with Rota owners out there. They are not comparable, period. Same look and thats it. But what is look when materiel is what matter?

The thing is, most people with Rotas don't need the extra strength of a forged wheel because all they do is the occasional auto cross and a few drags here and there. And for that, it's a great wheel! I think they look good, some of them don't as far as quality goes, but that's just preference.

Good track wheel? possibly, or at least until you brake one.

But for the money, why not??

true. their quality cannot be compared to the REAL forged rim. and like you said if you only occasionaly autox/road race or drag, then i think they are still good. i know many people with wrx who only auto x on their rotas, and have yet to hear of one breakin in person. i've had some slipstreams, and drove in boston (**** *** roads) for about 6 months, and not 1 warped rim. so from my experience i think they are good, and for the price as well. this arguement/discussion has gone on too long on too many boards. do a search next time buddy.
peace

My friend and I both have Rota's and we are both pleased with them. Both sets have been tracked and no problems as of yet.

im not trying to diss rota, but there is a reason the spoon volks and cp035 are so expensive,, they weight 8.5lbs and could be used to sink railroad track spikes.

rotas are cool because they are cheap. you would feel like total crap if you shelled out 2000 for some real deal mugens or whatever and they got stolen.

now THAT would be dope! I've always wanted to do a 5 lug on my hatch and throw some MF10's on there...something you don't see everyday! My room mate got BRAND NEW MF10's from a guy in Canada for 1500 US. Pretty good if you ask me. PLUS, they'll hold their value.

that would be like saying...."You would feel like crap if you're daughter spilled Kool Aid in the passenger seat of your NSX." If you have enough to play with the ballers, then you can afford to garage your ride and not leave it unattended for long amounts of time

I like mine, wasnt really into making the car look good. For the money you can't beat the look of ROTAS.
" MOST " people with lightweight forged rims are show cars. With ROTAS you can track them and if they break it wont break your wallet as well
