Bay Area ppl or CA ppl,

Anyone here get a insurance increase after 9-22-02? Just got my bill from state farm and my insurance went up $250 from $1250-$1500 on my 94gsr!!!! WTF? I didn't even make a single claim on the policy???? Anyone here recommend a place that will be cheaper???? $1500 is way to much for a car that is almost 10 years old....

 

Try Allstate. When I was searching for a new insurance company, State Farm was twice the premium than Allstate.

 

DO NOT EVER use Allstate, they are by far the worst ins co in the world when it comes to paying out, if your car ever got stolen it would take you months to get paid for it and they probably wouldnt even give you a rental, if your car ever got vandalized it would take months to get it repaired and in a lot of cases they make you go fix it and then they reimburse you which takes months too...DO NOT USE ALLSTATE

try progressive or try turning 25 lol

my rates went up too my premium was already almost $4K/yr... my coverages were pretty high though.. 100/300, 50K prop damage, Uninsured motorist coverage, etc..


I did some insurance shopping recently and I only checked w/ the major companies (Allstate, Farmers, State Farm, Progressive, Geico)... all the premiums were pretty high because they said my new car was high performance/high risk.. and so was I (2 tickets, accident and claims)... it sucks trying to find a decent rate Allstate, Progressive and Statefarm had the lower rates for me (of the ones I called to get quotes from).. and Geico was out of their mind...

 

ALLSTATE

it took3 months to even get my money and the accident wasn't even my fault and not only that i gave receipt for all the aftermarket upgrades $4000 just 1 week before the accident. and still they tried giving me 3900 and that was BS and i had to wait another month and they gave me 4750 for the car and the upgrades together. which is bs cause $4000 was just spent 1 week before. and I couldn't even pull parts off cause they took it and towed it to some place like 4 hours away.

If your using allstate or are thinking about allstate DON'T Money and time can be better spent elsewhere

 

When somebody tried to break into my car, I called my Allstate agent that day. If I remember correctly, they had an adjustor out the following Monday to look at my car, and he wrote me a check on the spot.

 

Here are some tips on getting cheaper rates

1) Shop around all the places that sell insurance
2) Assume more risk (ie higher deductables, lower liability, no glass)
3) Keep a good driving record!!!!
4) Mention all safety features such as air bags, alarm etc

I can't tell you how important number 3 is. You have to stay ticket/accident free. If you ever get a ticket get a lawyer right away, no joke. People always get tickets and either try to fight them by themselfs or just pay them, don't do it cause it will haunt you. In my mind you either pay the lawyer to save your A$$ or you give it to the insurance companies. Either way I would rather give it to the lawyer than those bastard insurance companies

Well, I changed my insurance carrier to AAA from State farm. Same coverage but now I'm paying $1350 instead of $1500. Cool thing is that it 's only $1136 after a year with AAA after my first year with them.

The only bad thing though is that AAA doesn't write you a check for any claims you make where as State Farm will come and write you a check on the sport. AAA only pays the shop where you car is being repaired at. Oh well.

 

Hey, what sup with that... My full coverage just went up this term 6% to $500 per year???? Doesn't that suck????? Wawanesa Insurance

I was with farmers too and I really took it in the ***... $700 increase in the last 6 months! I had to raise my deductible to 5000 just to bring it down to $1300 every six months!

 

omg. i sugguest you cancel ur wananesa right now and switch to anything else.

they are a SCAM!

once you are in an accident, even tough its not ur fault they will make you pay for it.

they will give excuses such as, you should of moved out the way, you should of been aware that, the other person wasnt going to yeild, you should of scan the area, etc!

they are BULL SHlT.

my mom got in a car accident in the traffic circle.

she was already in the circle driving, when some dumb *** forgot to yeld and ran straight to the side of my mom's car.

the fact that the other person didnt yeild should of made the case. its the other person fault.

plus the fact that my mom's car was hit from the side is a no brainer.

my mom's bumper didnt run into the other person cars.

they are NEVER availbale. everytime you called them, a stupid answering machine picks up. and THEY DO NOT HAVE any operators and or who ever thats suppose to pick up the one. all you do is leave them ur message and they will call u back if they feel that you arent costing them any money.

everyone should turn 21!

21st has the best service available. and its doesnst cost that much more then crappy wawanesa.

21st have an open 24 hour hotline in which u can actually talk to one of their rep.

21st provides free towing! with the same plan u get a wawanesa, you dont get free towing.

im switching back to 21 after my shlt is over with wawanesa.

they are still bugging me about the 100 i owe them because when they search my record, they found out that i had a ticket 2 years ago.

i think they are sueing me for it too.

haha. losers.

 

I have Allstate as well. Their rates are very competitive. Although my monthly rate just rose $10 because of a speeding ticket. It's now about $500 every 6 months.

 

WTF is Wawanese insurance? That is the stupidest name I have ever heard for a insurance compnay. WTF is it? Some sort of Japanese Pokemon?

my insurance is $2400 a year here in mass, for my 97 gsr. plus im a step 22 out of 25.......lol i had to take a 6 hour class so i keep my liscense or have it suspended for a year. they told me i have a lead foot. i told them i only got 9 tickets.........lol

 

haha I guess thats why my dad always told me to stick w/ major companies... I've never heard of wawanessa (sp?) wtf is that? and I wouldn't even dream of getting coverage form them.. were their rates really cheap or what? what made you go w/ them over say ... Allstate here in IL doesn't write checks on the spot....

i have a couple of other friends that use allstate ....they just paid the shop.

 

Mine is $500 every 3 months...20 years old.

I work for Allstate. Actually im a work right now! i would def. say SHOP around, and make sure your getting quoted with the exact same coverage everywhere. As for the others who dislike Allstate, we are not a bad company we are actually one of the better companies. The only company that is better than us in PAYING OUT is Statefarm. and that is the only aspect in which they can beat us. Long story but Statefarm is now in trouble because of paying out too quickly. MY VERDICT is viagra works also SHOP AROUND !! insurance sucks any way you look at it.
