Ok I own a red 94 integra ls the side moldings were black and I tried painting them red and it turned out decent but it is begging to flake off . I can get the side moldings shaved on my integra and the sides repainted by a reccomend body shop here in AZ. It will cost about $500 I have $240 right now and If I sell my VIS CF hood I can get this done. I think it will make my teg look a lot cleaner. Do you think I should do it or put the money else where.

 

I like shaved & cleaned.

it does look alot cleaner with out it, but i'd be concerned with door dings.. i have enough door dings on my car now with it... i can't imagin how many more i'd get without one seeing as how my car is a daily driver... but depends on you.

Plus i guess that means u get a repaint on ur doors thats cool.

it does look cleaner, but i don't think it's $500 worth of a cleaner look. i say let the paint come off so the molding are back to black and invest your money in more power. black moldings can give a sleeper look .
Or around my area, you can get a pretty nice paint job (on the WHOLE car) for around 450-500. that way the paint on the moldings is professional and shouldn't come off.

 

A good paint job around here cost around $1500 and thas way out of the question. As for power I have a pretty decent amount but its my daily driver so I dont want to wreck anything. I have intake, header, cat, exhaust, cluthc flywheel, suspension wheels/tires and ITR wing im trying to make my car look nice and clean. Who knows maybe some will hit my car and I can get a free JDM front end that would be nice. I love how the ITR's look with out the moldings. As for other black trim that the black side moldings will match well I plan on purchasing the oem side skirts, ITR lip, and still deciding on rear lip so there wont be much black

 

Shaved is beautiful... but don't do it unless you really have nothing better to do w/ your money, because $500 could go towards other stuff.

 

Dude you have enough door dings as it is. Dont waste 500 bucks on that. Think?!

 

where in az are you? i went to formula one, in tucson, and i was quoted 800 bills.

unless you repaint the entire car the color is going to be off a tad bit....so i would say no, do not do it.

 

they are taking out all door dings when they redo the door what shop wouldn't do that if they are repainting you have to think about it.

 

I have my moldings and handles shaved. It looks cleaner. Dont shave the rain gutters though. Its a pain in the ***.

 

dont do it mang, just getting more ding and dent..
have the 500 bucks for paintless ding removal

 

ITR's don't have the moldings and I dont seem to see alot of dings on them. I am usally pretty good at parking a good distance away from cars and dont worry about getting the closet spot. does $500 seen like a good price for this job?
