Hello All,

Just curious as to whether anyone really knows whether or not Acura is planning to bring in the RSX Type R to North America (Canada). According to my dealership the answer is yes however they do not have a definite date.

Am I getting excited for no reason???

 

No one has any definitive (i.e., written) confirmation/information from Honda.
Until someone has something in writing from Honda, we'll go in circles debating
whether or not it is coming. Who knows?

I was told THE NSX Type R was coming over here.
We all know that is not true.

 

as far as i know, its too costly to bring it over, especialy the CTR so honda prbably will never do that model. So it might a while untill they bring over the DC5 model since it aint here yet!

supply and demand. the ep3 didn't do as well as they would have liked and they didn't want the CTR to interfere with RSX sales. the RSX-R probably won't come due to the high cost of getting the car legal for the states plus they won't make much from them due to low production. plus, considering the price of the type r aero kit for the rsx, can you imagine how much the RSX-R would cost?!
i'm gonna go with a sure-fire NO on the DC5R

Why don't you focus on cars that you know will be out such as the STI WRX and the Lancer Evo 7

 

And is the rsx r was bought to the us and was going to cost 29k i doubt anybody would buy it since sti and lancer evo 7 are in that range

I talked to the dealer, they'll actually told me the oppositse of what i wanted to hear, i asked for the type r and if it was coming, he said no and tried to push the prefromance package on me.

 

i think they will bring the RSX-R over, but not the CTR. It is feasible, and could be sold for around 26-27k. It would sell decently IMO. They would have to bring up the HP a bit tho. It only has 20 hp over the type S. if they could(and probably can) get it up to 230, it would work. Remember the ITR only has 25 more hp and stickered for 3-4k more (than a GS-R) and even sold at sticker.

Honestly, I've done some research and asked around for it, because I really would want one, but from my research and questioning, it doesn't seem that it's going to come here. I talked to many dealerships, they all told me the same thing and that was that "they don't know if it will arrive, but if it does, then it will surely be de-tuned" but then again, dealers just want you to be interested in buying the car and they try to keep you coming back to their area and keeping an eye on them, so maybe you get interested in packages and stuff they get for it. I honestly think it will never come here, because of the cost. Although I think it is out in Europe, or Canada, but their RSX Type R, is our Type S I believe. I do have the number to Honda of Japan, but I don't have the long distance, and I think the language in me to call and ask them. I also talked to Honda of Canada, and they told me that they haven't received any, and probably will not! So that's what I came across during my research, and I've put my name down in many dealerhips just incase they get any word on it, but I HIGHLY doubt this one!
