Default how to fit aftermarket speakers

I have a 4 door so it's 6 and half inch for me.

I have infinity kappa speakers and they're about 2 and a quarter deep into the door panel. It's definitively not going to fit into the stock "bowl". I used to have these speakers on my accord and I "cut" the bowl to make them fit. I don't want to do that any more, any suggestions? A few searches on speakers have been done with little useful information.

cutting is you only option. Spacers will make the speakers hit the inner door panel. Whats wrong with cutting the bowl?

I did this on my 2-dr and removed the bowls in the front and made wood "donuts" that spaced the speakers outward a bit.
The rears I cut the bowls up so the speakers could fit, but being a 4-dr I believe that these are in the trunklid thingy.

I also made wood donuts for my Boston's in the front. Then I drilled four holes through the wood and into the door. Next, I just used four sheet metal screw and went through the speakers, wood and into the door. They're on there tight.

I removed the bowls and made wooden donuts for my CD Tech sats. Best way to get a decent sized bass driver into the door.

basically a piece of wood that I cut out using a jig saw. It doens't have to be perfectly round, just thick enough for the speaker to sit on and not make any contact behind it.

So buy a jigsaw, rent a jigsaw, buy a coping saw, use a serrated plastic knife, this is not rocket science.

You guys who removed the bowls, aren't there problems with the speaker cone getting wet? I didn't even take the bowl out and one speaker was wrecked after a couple months from getting all wet. i don't there's any kind of seal in the door to keep water out

i usually cut the bowls.

< MECP certified installer.

ocasionally ill make a plate out of ABS plastic. depending on the door panel, the new speakers wont fit with wood rings.
