Default Short Shifters: C's Vs. Neuspeed

for those of you that own one of these, or have driven them both - vote for your favorite. I know the C's can be had for around 300 bucks but what about the Neuspeed?

hybrid: if you're talking about the C's, that install is a snap. Be sure to use poly bushings while you're at it!

I don't think that's a proper comparison.

The DC Sports header will give MORE power than the stock ITR header.

BUT, a DC Sports short shifter is worse than a stock ITR Shifter (Notchy and will break).

i.e. A DC Sports header would be an upgrade, while a DC Sports Short Shifter is a downgrade.

Either way, DC Sports sucks ****, so just go with the C's shifter.

I got a Neuspeed one and thought it was pretty short when I first put it in, but now I love it. Sure, I'd like the C's but not for $300. I am happy with the neuspeed one.

The standard C's Short Stroke Shift does NOT cost $300, not in Japan anyways , though it is not POLISHED like Lionel's (very nice). The standard C's looks like this:

Get the Spoon shifter bushings - stiff, but no squeaking. Got mine from AJ Racing in Vancouver, BC.

If so, give some feedback.

Well, I really love my Neuspeed Short Shifter! It may not be a "C"'s but it's no "DC SPORTS" either. As for price, I believe they are around a low $200. Quality, well I've owned MANY Neuspeed products and have never had any problems. Since owning the Neuspeed, I have sold 4 units to other TYPE-R owners and still have interest to get more. Sorry, but I don't have access to them anymore...

Thanks,
Victor Perri II

kengs - Where did you purchase the boot plate from? Did that come with the C's shifter? What kind of boot is that? From an ITR?

Using the C's shifter, can I use the stock boot?

How much for the non-polished one?

Thanks!

i have heard that using a short shift kit on a ITR can make it even more difficult to shift because the throw distance is so short some tend to misshift. dunno if that is a misconception or maybe those people dont know how to drive??? will some1 clarify?

The boot is called the C's Stainless Boots Plate - optional, does not come with the Short Stroke Shift. It kinda looks like it came off a late-70's Camaro, but I like it anyway

BTW, I'm using the C's on my Civic Si, but yes, it is the stock boot. I may get the C's Revolver II shift **** next time.

I got the ProEdge w/ stabilizar kit. Personally I love it. Some have complained about it rattling on their car, but with mine I have never had it happen. I just like how you can change the height and throw of the shifter. Heck I once had it shorter then a Miata's shifter to the point where it would bairly move.
Also the price is killer. Get the metal bushings (stabilizar kit) if you want to remove the rubbery feel from the stock rubber bushings.

Just leave it stock unless you want to shift like a robot all the time and break things.

There is nothing better than that smooth stock throw.
