Comming into the integra world, couple questions about performance upgrades
yes, i did a search, had a civic and it was stolen, now decided to come into the real world and get an integra, im prob lookin at an ls, i work in shop so im thinkin about going ls/vtec, i know ide get more from a tubo or boost, but im just not going that way right now i did a search but i have a couple questions abotu the ls/vtec, ive been told can add about 30hp or so, but is that whp? in addition would prob be getting an si tranny as well, so this combo would bring me close to gsr specs correct? i know to change the pistons and rods, but will changing the cams in the new head also boost the hp? and how reliable will this be as a daily driver? any other ideas, i know gsr swap is pretty simple, but kinda liek the idea of doin some good old fashinoned work and being a hybrid any inmput would be great havent bought a teg yet, so im not only set on the ls, thanks guys late
you can make crazy horsepower with an LS/Vtec.... depends on what you're doing.
If you want to keep the stock block then drop in some ITR pistons, maybe some Crower 404's, Skunk2 IM, and some tuning (along with I/H/E) and you'll be there.
Turbo works too...

To make the LS/VTEC run well and rev high like VTEC engines should, you're gonna need to spend some money for internals... Just as an example I'll list my setup... its not winning any awards but it runs strong.
B18a block (it's a g2 baby) ;-)
b16a head
JE pistons 12:1 compression,
Eagle forged rods,
ITR valvesprings/retainers,
a block guard (I guess just for some "insurance" ;-)
a GSR block is a more high-revving platform to begin with. LS blocks weren't made to go to 9 grand ;-)
Just a little info I thought might help.
