Default inline fuse... which fuse to use??

I'm wondering if anyone knows a little more about this... I understand why adding an inline fuse is important for like a vtec controller and shift light and such for the power wire. But how do i know what fuse size to use? What's safe for what? any input welcome
thanks

for amps use the same size fuse at the battery as the fuse on the amp.

If you are referring to an inline fuse for like a Vtec controller or a shift gauge, then I would recommend like a 15 or 20 amp fuse at the most.
