ya there are a lot of ways break those things but they are a good deterrant, for the average thief that does not want to go through all of that trouble.. they make great weapons too. kinda like that

whoa, i wonder how many non-legitimate users that company has for their products. i mean, there are only so many repo companies and tow companies out there.

guys... bottom line tho.. if someone wants to really get ur car they cant... there is little we can do to prevent a skilled theif or even a dumb theif with a flatbed. But if you do decide to get the club n autolock and such as long as we understand its a detterent not armed guards, well thats fine cuz it gives us peace of mind and might make some people think twice about stealing it.

repo men can show you anything....

they can take a car in literally seconds...they are, in essence, stealing it...

wish i could...it was one of those things where i paid the man to make it, he's a very long-time friend from high school, and can get in MUCHO trouble with the boss if he finds out something like that was made at his shop (technically it IS a threat to someone's life). i really don't want to put him in a position to get in trouble.....we did this one after hours one nite, and they now have 24/7 video surveillance....so daytime boss-man will see what he's making, and night-time he's not supposed to be there. i can check, but no promises.

and as for california, i'm military personnel and therefore my state-issued permit to carry, just like vehicle registration, stays in my home state and still applies while i'm active living elsewhere. so even though my state doesn't have emissions and smog testing, i could live in california for 25 years and keep my own registration in my home state. therefore i'd actually LIVE in california, but don't have to adhere to any california vehicle emissions codes, aftermarket equipment codes, or any of that other CARB crap you poor guys have to put up with.

My cousin is right now going to the police academy to be a police officer... he says that the only car that theives can't steal is the Mercedes Benz...

Have any of you seen the movie "Gone in 60 seconds?" Well, remember in that movie how they had to get something about laser etched keys or something for the three benzes??? If you don't remember... it's when the guys had to wait for the dog to take a **** because it swallowed it... Well... according to my cousin that's the ONLY car in the world that thieves can't steal... I wish I had that **** on my car.

why does something like this scare everyone, and why ask for a deletion?

there have been hacksaws for much longer than this tool has been around, and hacksaws are 20x cheaper than this tool, not to mention it is just as quick for a thief to cut through a steering wheel to remove your safety measures as it is to use this to pop it off.

this thread should be used to educate yourselves to the fact that these 'club' and clublike things are useless at protecting your vehicle and if you get any sense of security out of owning these devices, you should not any more.

invest in a real security system.

That movie is somewhat accurate, although Mercedes don't use conventional metal keys.

BTW, Lojack just let's you recover your stolen and stripped car. Doesn't do **** for prevention.

yeah and it is not a problem puttin it on and off ... it is pretty easy, and yeah i think the teg has less space under the dash which makes it even harder to break the autolock

ever used a cutting torch?? 2 seconds and the steering wheel is toast.

You put a sticker on your car stating you have a weapon and you're gonna get shot.

Think McFly, Think.

hm.. to me all it looks like its doing is bending the autolock.. dam its too bad the autolock doesnt emit high powered voltage when someone touches it..

but there have been incidents where cars have been stolen & recoverd with the autolock still installed.. musta been a towjob.. hm.. i'm beginning to wonder if having shaved keyholes and keyless only entry is the only way to go.. but it would really suck if the batteries in ur alarm button died..
