Default Tire decision help...

I've been shopping around for a good deal and reasearching Honda-Tech for tires to be mounted on my 16"x7" Rota Subzeros (40mm offset ) on my GSR with H&R Sports and Koni Yellows, this summer.

I've narrowed it down to two choices, Toyo Proxes, or Bridgestone S0-3's.

A group buy is going on, here are the prices (CDN$):

Toyo Proxes T1 - 205/45/16 - 180.80$

Bridgestone Potenza So3 - 205/45/16 - 191.79$

Toyo Proxes T1 - 205/40/16 - 145.90$

I was expecting to go with a 205/45/16 but I'm wondering if the 40 will fit and what the pros/cons would be? I guess less tire protecteing the rim...but a $150 dollar savings from 45 to 40 series!?

Also, from what I've read here, the S0-3's are supposed to be really good. $40 more for a set of 4 is not much, should I go for it?

The car will be moslty street driven in the above mentioned set-up along with Front and Rear TypeR Strut Tower bars (probably a typeR rear sway in the future as well) and will be tracked 1-2 a year along with a few days at the drags....

What would you guys go with and why?

TIA

I haven't driven both so I couldn't tell you. Of the two, I'd probably say the S-03 will get the higher vote.

Have you checked out the Yokohama ES100? It's a good cheap tire too...

Toyo Proxes T1 - 205/45/16 -
Bridgestone Potenza So3 - 205/45/16 -
Toyo Proxes T1 - 205/40/16 -

Falken FK-451's are a good all around performance tires. Falken Azenis are hella good tires for racing, but they are shitty in the rain. Both types are pretty reasonable priced.

Cool, thanks for the quick responses. I really think I'm gonna go for the S0-3's. Gonna pick them up this week.

Any Nay's?
