hey guys, just wondering if you guys that have done this if the shop put in the same diamiter pipeing to extend it. cause i got a resonator replaced on my last exhaust and the guy just stuck a smaller pipe in the b-pipe and welded it... i dont want to have this done again on this one so i was wondering if theres a way to get the same size pipe put in? thanks

take your car to a different muffler shop and they should have no problem using a same diameter pipe welded in. I just had my b-pipe extended today and they used the same diameter piping.

For a '94-'99 GS-R you will need to have the Type-R B-pipe extended by 4.5". Here is a picture of my lengthened Type-R B-pipe.

BTW, I had a 2.5" exhaust flange installed for a future JDM 4-1 header and a 2.5" hi-flow cat. So, my modified Type-R B-pipe will look a little bit different. If you just want to extend the B-pipe and use the stock flange, then you can just have the muffler shop cut the B-pipe about 4-5" back from the flange. Then a piece of 2.25" piping can be expanded on each end and inserted in between.

HTH. Let me know if you have any other questions.

have you consider getting a US ITR Header & Cat? so it will just be plug & play..

so no modification will be done to your ITR B-pipe (which could also affect air flow)?
