Default Alternator

I was wondering if i need a new alternator, or better grounds in the engine bay. Heres the problem....when i am stopped at a light and i have the brake pedal depressed, then the headlights and console lights dim, and when i let go, they go back to normal power....also, when i have only the accesories on (engine not running) it seems like my car cant produce enough power to roll the windows up or down.....i do have a system, but it only has a 300 watt amp, and one sub, so i dont see it being that...i have already cleaned the ground connections down to the body, so that isnt any paint over them, and i was also wondering if a ground wire kit will help, i already have it, but just need to know where to hook them up....also, would a new alternator take care of any of these problems anyway?? thanks for all the help!

turn off the stereo and see what your voltage is at when the engine is running.

Dude check you're battery first, sounds like it's not holding charge.
