'91 CRX Si Exhaust Manifold Removal
I'm trying to replace the oil pan on my 91 CRX Si and I need to remove the "A" pipe. Problem is, it is rusted solid to the flange at the bottom of the exhaust manifold.
Has anyone been able to remove the manifold and A pipe as one piece, either from the top or bottom of the car?
My CRX has no A/C, so there is a bit more room in the engine bay. I've seen 1-piece aftermarket headers that are the same size as these two pieces together, so I imagine it's possible.

Spray the nuts with a pentrant (WD-40 or something similar) let them sit for a cuple of hours to let it soak in. Then heat the nuts with a propane torch. Us a 6 point 14 mm impact socket on a half inch drive impact and hope it doesn't twist off the stud in the manifold. If that happens take the whole manafold off at the head and take it to an automotive machine shop. They can remove the old stud and then buy new ones.
use a torch to heat the bolt and get it hot enough so it glows red and get some strong vice grips and break that dam bolt loose. it will save ya a trip to the mechine shop.
