well, i have decided to sell my Integra (which was my auto-x car, and hoped to one day have ti in ECHC) for financial reasons, but i have however, ended up with a del Sol that i only paid $400 for, so i was going to start racing it, and well, i was wondering if anyone made a bolt-in cage for it, or will i have to have one fabricated
Fabricated. I almost went down that road, but unfortunately the 2nd sol is no more (long story). Check out a few pics I have of the only full cage road racing sol I know of at http://www.rose-hulman.edu/~davisbc/car/cottrellsol. If you're interested in SCCA, I think the del Sol could be pretty competitive in ITS.

Finally! At least now I can see how you should do the rear down bars. Thats how I thought it should be done. Just could never picture it in my head. I guess there is no legality problems with replacing the back window with lexan?

hmm, the yellow bee paint del sol (richard holdner is the same i think) had lexan rear window, it's cage did not pass through the top of the trunk lid, how ever it did go through the rear bulk head area... i guess that was still legal.

Hmm, I thought you could only use lexan if the cage went through the window. Maybe the glass hangs down into the rear bulkhead area a bit? Or maybe mechanism that supports the glass had to be removed for the cage to pass through? I'll have to check my GCR tonight and see the exact wording for the lexan allowance.

See what he can do for you. It won't be cheap, but you won't get a cheap cage either.
