That's about the normal price for a track that probably cost half a billion dollars to build. The cost of putting on an event there is $50K or more, because the track forces you to rent their own ambulance, their own PA system, their own everything.

I hate to sound like a *****, but if all you guys are going to do is tell us that you raced and where you finished, don't even bother telling us anything at all.

I know the board doesn't have any right to expect that you will tell an entertaining or informative story after every race, but that's kinda why alot of us are here.

It looks like the story from Willow Springs was that Shawns driving has improved to the point where his power to weight ratio is paying off. Jeff Owen's suggestion that he needs more power to combat Bota left me wondering what was up with Glen. I know that telling stories from off the back isn't as much fun as telling stories of victory, but you can tell us what happened without sounding like you're making excuses.

Scott, who doesn't mean to offend or insult, he just want's to hear about it....the GFCP hasn't been smokin enough lately...and the second hand buzz from vicarious racing has been weak lately....

I'm kinda confused on if that was directed at me or not.... I haven't gotten up the energy to write up a race summary yet. Partly because I'm disappointed in my own performance, due to the bad, bad calls I made when setting things up as well as last minute changes that didn't help. Add to that the last minute notice of getting ready for this event, scrambling Friday afternoon trying to get a replacement hub for a damaged one, and it was a stressful week.

Don't look at me as a consistent benchmark on how fast Bota and Owen drove, because I was definitely off the pace this last event. I'm left standing alone smacking my own head. "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!"

cheer up glen, be more hayashi like and have some fun poking your self and make some excuses!

speaking of hayashi and gang, project remix (go go, d16z6) passed wayne (who's usually no sloutch) driving his F360! (on the front straight of thunderhill no less! haha) i wish i had that on video. it'd be fun to totally trash talk hahahah.

Sorry Glen - I wasn't directing my remarks at anyone in particular for the most part.

I had been expecting you usual quality of race report, and figured it wasn't coming this time. I was guessing that you were off form, but had nothing much to go on. I'm anticipating the possibility of writing from that perspective some this year, so that's probably where some of that came from.

Shawn never has been much for writing, and I don't know Jeff Owen - though I'm pleased to see him show up on the board.

Scott, who does look to Glen as a benchmark somewhat...that's one of the hazards of vicarious racing....

I agree with you that it is a high price. On Laguna Seca, you also have to remember that it is on government property and operated by a non-profit organization. So they don't need to make the big bucks like CSW. Other events at CSW that use the entire roval track (infield-only is cheaper) seem to be $300+ or so in general, so NASA is somewhat in line with other clubs.

yes i am not the well versed english man here on the board so i find my posts to be rather uninformative and lifeless

i could try to lay out how my weekend went...and try to be as honest and consistent as possible. glen seems to do well is that case. to tell you the truth i was looking forward to glens typical post as well. glen what you said about rushing can be written about as well. we would like to hear how your level of preparation has led you to the position you finished in...

as for me...i dont have much to say because my car ramianed static besides the one big change that seems to unleash the proper setup on the car (ITR front sway bar). the less you touch, the less you can mess up. change the oil, fill the radiator, check tire pressures and go!

scott, how about we try this all over for round 2?

Didn't mean it quite that way. "Why can't you be more like Doug Hayashi" is kinda how I meant it - directed at everyone.

.. the less you touch, the less you can mess up. change the oil, fill the radiator, check tire pressures and go!
While some people might look down their nose at you and say that that's not real racing, I think that I'd side with you on this and let them change parts out all day and barely make it to pre-grid. This is NOT meant to be a dig at anyone in particular!!!! It's just reflects my preference for not working on the car during a race weekend.

Scott, who is feeling a little better after reading the nsxfiles today....but only a little...

this is the best especially if you win!!!

usually all i did at the track was check tire pressure (one weekend didn't even do that) check oil, fluid levels, and bleed brakes once a day....no worries just race....that's why i daily drove my race car so i could sort it out....no at speed but making sure didn't over head, handled right....etc....
