Default brembo calipers!!

greeting from the accord forum, i have a question for u guys since it is a typeR question!

friend of mine has a set of brembo calipers, I suppose they could be the ones from japan that were made to fit the typeR? assuming it uses a 11.2inch rotor, could it work for my 5th gen accord since I use the legend calipers and the same size rotors as a typeR??

hehe, ok! i believe ya, but do u know if it will fit my car? i mean, i dont know squat about the typeR's brake system! but i know that i could easily fit the NSX, lude, typeR calipers onto my 11.2 size rotors!!

If you are talking about the Integra(RSX)Type R then I don't think so becuase my friend and I tried that on his prelude. I believe DC2 Type Rs, Preludes, and Accords have the same brakes pretty much so you will have to do alot custom work to make it fit. You will probly need to go to a machine shop and have them make you a custom bracket. Also you may need to modify the brackets on the car. It would be too much work. I would say get Spoon Calipers beucase they are a direct bolton and would probly cost about the same. So we just gave up and installed NSX calipers instead.

ok, but, these are DC5, and would u say that these brembo calipers r clamping on the same size rotors (11.2) ?? if so, then i dont see how they wouldnt fit right in! since i could use the USDM typeR/lude calipers! :>

You're only comparing rotor size between the two vehicles!
You have the take into account the bracket dimensions!
Even if you can use DC2 Type R calipers on your Accord, the DC5 Calipers cannot simply be bolted on a DC2!
Therefore, your theory ends right there!
Furthermore, the bracket on the OEM Brembo caliper is fixed!
So at the very least you will need to fabricate new brackets to accomodate your knucles!

Is that enough exclamation marks for you?!
