Default my setup good for 14's?

Hi. I drive a '95 cx stock right now. I was wondering if my planned setup will get me 14's in the 1/4. I have a complete gude d16z6 head package coming in the mail (I bought it used). It will go on either a z6 or y8 block (btw - is there a difference?). So here are the mods (planned mods):

z6 head - p&p, milled
ported im
bored tb
gude cam (hccs14)
gude ecu (w/ 8500 rpm rev limit)
ex/si tranny - w/ cx 3rd in place of 4th
bisimoto header
intake/exhaust

I may also take out the rear seats (I'm not sure if I want to gut the whole car yet). Also, I want to run vx wheels with 175/50/13s for a shorter fd. Any opinions/advice is appreciated. Thanks.

that should be inthe 14's easily mang.

I ran a 15.5 with basically stock Z6 w/o rear interior with 2.3 60's.

I'm hoping for low 14's if not 14 flat with my new setup...pics will be up next Friday still Z6....

i had a 99 D16Y8 with Z6 manifold and throttle body with a stock P28 ECU. I had an AEM cai from a Type R, RSR 4-2-1 header (very nice), stock car and RSR cat back exhaust. also had Clutchmasters 7.5lbs flywheel with stock clutch. all this totaled 126whp and 110 torque.

this got me down the track in 15.2 seconds at 89mph with a 2.24 60ft using bald *** 205-50-15 Azenis (also on stock suspension).

ur package should get u into the 14's for sure.

was that in the CX?? Was the engine still strong? Seems like you'd be quicker than that. Still good though

yea the engine was great, but the clutch sucked, i had stock **** CX suspension (major weight tranfer to the back) and bald tires. that engine could of hit 14's for sure in my cx with better tires, clutch and suspension

I bought it off of a HT member here for $800 plus shipping - it's better than dealing with gude and paying $1600 plus $500 core.

Emerica: What's your new setup? Did you post about it a few days ago? I don't remember. Thanks.
