Default 5 lug practicality?

Do 5 lug suspension swaps pose any benefits for you Integra guys, besides the cool uniqueness of it? I realize it probably allows you a wider wheel selection, but any actual benefits? I am wondering if it's worth looking into for my EP3...

bigger rotors = more rotating mass = blah
1 more lug = even more rotating mass = blah

wheel choice in 4x100 is not much less than 5x114.3

now if you were to autoX and need better brakes, just get a big brake kit for less $

ITR Brakes are a huge improvement over stock....so aside from the ability to rock MF10's and Gunmetal OEM R wheels...you get real nice brakes

Yes but you had to buy new wheels. For $300 you can get better brakes than stick ITR, sorry but its true. 11.1 inch rotors @ 28mm thickness and 2 piston calipers. I really dont care about the "coolness" factor, and i think its a waste of $ to get 5 lug because its Ko0l yO

you think it aloows for a better wheel selection ? hahahaa , you got seomthing coming .
mostly all hondas are 4 lug, so why would they make more wheels in the not so popular 5 lug ?
i dunno i dont think its worth it to convert, its just the bling factor to say hey. i have 5 lug like a type R , . . . . JDM YO

man that was a steal of a deal... I might do it if I found a deal like that, but otherwise who cares, just get the ITR-spec 4-lug brakes from fastbrakes.com and call it a day.

I mean seriously, when you're actually using those brakes for what they were intended, nobody will be able to tell how many lugs you have

there is one big reason to consider switching, but if you don't know what it is, you probably won't bennefit from the change.

the thing is, that if you are autoxing, every time you take a corner you are putting a lot of load onto your wheels, and that gets transfered through 4 points into the rest of your car. 5 lugs transfer that load out just a little bit more and make for a less stressful corner on your wheels.

it is nothing you can feel, it is nothing you can see, in fact there is no way that a you will in any way notice the bennefit, but it will be there.

if you are considering doing it because it is cool, put your money in your pocket and buy yourself a nice set of golf clubs, that is much cooler than rollin 5 lugs deep for no reason at all.

A 2600-lb or lighter Honda will never overstress 4 lug nuts and studs if properly torqued.... ever. If so they would have made all their cars 5-lug.

Interesting as the weight of the car is supported not by the studs themselves, but by the flat furface where the wheel meets the hub. The lugs just keep the wheel pressed up against the hub. 5 lugs will never ever make any difference in any situation in a honda.

I saw some pictures of a Japanese race where they used a s2k i believe. Anyway 3 of the lugs broke off after the day. And the wheel was still on the car. If it was 4 lug, by by wheel.

I think that's why he was stressing ENTIRE system, as in wheels and tires included.
