Default Scotchgard on my new SRDs a good idea?

I just purchased some Scotchgard protector for my black SRDs? You guys think this is a good idea? Any of guys have used it?

Never heard of anyone doing it. Doesn't mean it's not a good idea though

My old roommate coated his Torino's with that stuff, did like 5 different layers, didn't hurt anything, and they stayed clean
