Ahh joy. I'm sitting here on H-T after coming downstairs from just watching the JGTC on Speed. My old man is watching the other Daytona race (the big race was 2 weeks ago) and I just heard DW "holler" BOOGEDY BOOGEDY BOOGEDY.

Penalize drivers for blatant rough driving, remove the rules that almost mandate "the big wreck" (restrictor plates, identical body silhouettes), and get a NEW group of announcers that have better than a third grade education for goodness sakes. Then NAPCAR might be worth watching. Oh yeh - take away the restrictor plates and make 'em run the FULL course, including the infield road course. THAT I would watch.

 

39 cars changed places in 1 lap, wont see that in any other racing

i'll give em prop's they are racers afterall but i think it is bogus that they don't run in the rain. when they do run the infield half the field is gone after 4 laps. what's up with that??????

Is that still the popular belief? I am not contesting it but its hard for me to believe that millions upon millions tune in/buy tickets to watch a wreck. I watched the 500 and was just blown away by the fact these guys have that much faith in each other to go through the banking side by side at 180+ mph. I have been beside one car at 120+ mph and it is intimidating to say the least - these guys do that in a train of 15 cars. That, to me, is just unreal and I give 'em credit for putting on a good show. As for racing in the rain, I'd go out on any track I've been on in the rain but it would be hard to get me out on a banked oval in high humidity

 

Just the other week, I heard him say "CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK!" I think, as a driver hurtled towards the wall, the announcer spoke faster than he could think and that came out.
