when im just cruising on small streets, lets say 40km/h and im in 3rd gear... when i try to give it gas, the car "lags" and doesnt respond to the throttle.
it tends to make my car lurch foward and it sounds like my car wants to die.
whats the problem??? i used to even be able to start in my car in 3rd gear no problem. now it is struggling.
this is most noticable in 3rd gear, however this happens in every gear. i thought this was normal but then when i tried driving my brother's ek, his car has so much more punch at these speeds and same gears.
the times when i really need to "punch" it is in traffic jams... when everyone is going slow like 40-50km/h on the highway.. i dont want to stay in 2nd gear because it is too roudy for that speed. therefore i stay in 3rd.
please help if u have any kind of idea of what the hell is up with my car! tia

 

well it could be a number of things, clogged fuel filter, clogged injectors or you could need new wires and plugs. whens the last time any of this was changed?

 

well, i got new plugs and wires in november.. i believe the injectors are fine (i think the regular use of those "fuel injector cleaners" would keep em clean), but i dont think i've looked into fuel filters yet.
also i noticed this especially after i got my short ram intake...
