Hey, I put in type r cams into my car today and now the car won't start.. I'm gonna tear it all apart and do it again tommorrow, but I was just wondering if you guys had any pointers for putting them in the next time around? I'm almost 100% positive it was at tdc so.. not quite sure what I did wrong. I think it might be the timing, but wouldnt it start and just idle all weird? Any suggestions needed.
Thanks guys

You likely put the timing belt on improperly. If it's far enough off it will prevent the car from starting. Also check the harness at the distributor.

The cam gears are supposed to be horizontally even, not pointing towards the ground at all. It looks close but that is not close enough it should look like--
if i had to guess i would say your timing is waaaay off. the same thing happend to me when i was installing mine...it would not start. after messing with the timing it started. good luck

I don't believe so, I have actually set the cam timing on a ZC. I am not sure if an integra has the holes in the cams near the cam gear, but you should and you should be able to stick a pin of some sort through them. Doing so the crank pulley should be set at TDC, where in there is a timing marker on your crank pulley, or you can always verify it by the old screwdriver in the spark plug hole and stop rotating when it is at the top of it's motion. But if you can get some type of pin through the cams the cam gears should line up. The next pain in the *** is getting the timing belt to go on. Good luck, it honestly took my buddies and I 2 hours to do this, just make sure it is not a tooth off.

We think it's just the timing that is messed up now. Unfortunately the timing belt came loose so we have to get to the tensioner to tighten it back up.
Hopefully we can finish it tomorrow, after over 10 hours of working on it

that happen to me too. me and my friends couldn;t figure it out. we thought we bought some fucked up cams or that the distributor took a dump all of a sudden. it ended up that we need to do a valve adjustment. try it if you haven't already done it.

Well we found out why the belt came loose - there's a tear in it
So now we need to replace that and then fix the cams. Anyone up in WA that can help?

Might be a blessing in disguise. This is the best possible way to find out your T-Belt is damaged.
