Default Modding Your Power Window Motors (can it be done)

As the topic says... is there anyway to upgrade or replace the motor on your power windows (i have a 99si)

it takes for ****** evar for my passenger side window to roll up and I know its not my damn car batterey!!!

do you have to buy like the whole contraption assembly or is there any websites (im googling as we speak) that sell custom kits for that type of ****...

I know some people get power windows installed on manual mirror cars and there obiously is a way to hook a motor up to that stuff...

someone please advise

Just put some nitrous on it! Just messin'.

As for a serious note of help, try looking at other model Honda/Acura cars that have a faster window mechanism and if you don't, move onto trying other cars.

Have you tried silicon spray along the window track? I used it when my windows were going slow or getting stuck.

Works like a charm.

Silicon spray makes windows work like new! Or you could do a manual window conversion

the motors are replaceable, but more than likely the track is fugged, not the motor.

All you need to do must likely is just lube your tracts, or the motor is possibly in the process of going bad.

Use the wet type, get it on the track inside the door and in the rubber seal part up top......

you better fix it before it messes up.... my driver side window was doing the same thing... and the arm that holds the window snapped.... and the window came down and got scratched.... so i took it off and welded it back together..... the lube works... had to do it to my passanger side too.....

welp i found something today online how to take all of that **** apart, so im just going to take the windows and the tracks out of the door and clean the track as best as possible.. the car has been broken into a couple of times, the window was broken on that side once, and also pryed into so im sure that will help it...

if the **** still rolls up slow when i slap it all back together im just going to buy some honda accord motors...

do you need to lube that plastic strip that snaps onto the outside of the door too, at the base of the window?

Its not your motor. Its the regulator. Theres a technical service bulletin on this, it happens to 96+ cars. the regulator needs to be replaced. Ive done both doors on my 96. Easy 30min job. about 30 for the part.

mine sounded like I had sand in the grooves when the window went up and down, like three weeks later the window stopped working, 96-98 civics use a wire attached to a motor to roll them up and down. what happened was the wire became stray and starting coming apart, the grinding I heard was the wire getting bunched up inside the pulleys, all in all it sucked.
