Default Your thoughts on this 94' GSR I'm about to buy...

...I've finally found (what I think is to be) a good deal on a GSR. Stats are following:

94' Black GSR
76k Miles
$7500

I figure that to be a damn good deal on a car that is rather rare up here in the NE.

Paints looks good, not sure on accidents but no body damage...

and one more newb question...how exactly do u tell a GSR apart from, say an LS?

Both have leather, right? I dont know anythin about Integras yet lol, so any help

would be appreciated!

Lots of ways you can tell. Mainly, check the VIN Number (on the dash, look thru the windshield on the drivers side.. from outside the car.) Make sure it says JH4DC2XXXXXXXXX. DC2 being the important part. If it's DC4, then it's an LS, DC2 means it's a GS-R. Pop the hood, look at the valve cover and makes sure it says DOHC VTEC. If both of those check out, there's a good chance you're getting a GS-R.

You should definitely get a car fax before you purchase any car. YOu never know what kind of history they may have had.

do a carfax, pop the hood and the trunk-run your fingers down the edges of the fenders both front and back if there is a sharp paint line it has been repainted because of an accident. also take the car to a parking lot and turn the wheel all the way to one side and drive around forwards and backwards, repeat in the other direction . if you here any clunking or rubbing noises something is up. if there is a clunking noise there is something wrong with the steering rack if there is rubbing then the car has alignment issues, possibly because of an accident. also ask the person if there is any reason you shouldnot buy th e car, for legal reasons. 7500 is a steal for an obd1 in with that few miles on it. try to talk em down to 7000 because you should get the timing belt service done by 90,000 miles. leather was still an option in the 94 gsr and wasn't standard. good luck sounds like a beauty

just buy a ls/gs/rs adn do a motor upgrade... you are going to change the spings snyway and add aftermarket I/H/E like everyone else... its just cheaper in the long run, and cheaper on insurance.... funny thing with integras is that the only difference in the seats is cloth or leather, and jdm Recaro SRD's... so buy buying a GSR you arent even getting a different interior.

Swap isn't too good of an option for me...There are NO good shops in RI that can

really help me with a swap, they want lucrative prices or they might seem shady.

Otherwise, I would just swap in a B18C5 into my damn civic! An LS i wouldnt mind

gettin tho, theyre not too expensive, and I could just boost it with saved money on

stock internal for some nice power

Run the VIN# through carfax. Don't spend $7500 w/o knowing what you're buying. No I'm not associated with Carfax in any way. Good luck bro.

That's a great deal. Dammit, I paid about 1500 more for my GSR. Similar milage and yr but it was from a dealer. But no regrets getting my GSR.
