Default Exterior painting: what about the black trim?

Hey all,
Was just wondering if you can get the exterior of your car painted and leave the trim on.. will they paint over the trim and will it be ok like this? Or is it a good idea to get it removed and filled with some coquing agent??

I've seen quite a few cars that look like they have the trim painted over.. so maybe it is ok?? Just need some confirmation

So do you want it painted or not?
If not its not that hard to remove the
trim.

If I remove the trim, won't I have this nasty 'gouge' in my body??

Just trying to go the most cost effective route

Hmmm, my buddy said that it costs a lot to fill in the area left when the trim is pulled. Anyone else know approximately how much it would cost to fill the trim-area?
