Default My baby is gone... to a good home.

I sold my ITR today. I have an offer in on a house, and I have my Porsche and BMW to keep me entertained, but I hope to rejoin all of you someday and buy another type R. Modern Porsches and BMW's just aren't as raw and visceral as the R.

Ironically, I sold it to a guy in Milwaukee, where I bought the car in the first place (5 hours from me). He had a Civic Si before and doesn't seem to be a stunna, so I think the car went to someone who will appreciate it.

Interestingly, I had no serious interest in my car for a month and then all at once 4 people all wanted to buy it. The market is definitely still strong for the type R, or at least for stock ones with low miles.

This buyer didn't get my 16" gunmetal Advans so they are still for sale.

Thanks all of you for all the info and funny stories over the past 2 years. I probably won't be around much in the future.

Just curious... why sell the R, when you have a Porsche and BMW? If you plan on buying another one some day... I just don't see the point in selling. But good luck with the new house (if you get it) and have fun with the cars!

That is a legitimate question. I have the BMW and Porsche leased through my company, but I paid cash for the R, so I had equity in the R. Buying the R and leasing the other cars was about the best thing I ever did. The R held its value while the BMW and especially Porsche will be worth a LOT less than the lease residuals at the end of their leases (due to the crappy market). So sad for Porsche and BMW finance, so happy for me.

Just curious... why sell the R, when you have a Porsche and BMW? If you plan on buying another one some day... I just don't see the point in selling. But good luck with the new house (if you get it) and have fun with the cars!

The guy's name who bought it is Brian. I don't want to say his last name because of potential theft issues. He is in Waukesha.

I have a WRX too, and the dirt is the ONLY place it is more fun than the type R. On pavement you realize it is way too soft and has crummy brakes, and the turbo lag drives me nuts. The shifter is also about as precise as stirring a box of rocks.

What a coincidence (sp) My buddy just raced him in his new(used) ITR . The other night, my buddies got a 94 red dx ahtch with a H22a and the guy wanted to race him. They raced and it was pretty close, since my buddy put his stock DX exhaust on, so he had no top end, but my buddy beat him by a small margin he said.

My buddy Pat said that, the ITR was Clean as FAWK, adn the engine bay was brand new looking.

Just though I'd share

Small world man. I am glad to hear he is having fun with it. Yeah that car looks pretty new inside and out. I always thought I'd keep it forever, and treated it as such. I wonder if he raced on the snow tires on black steelies or if he braved the cold with the worn out old 010's.
