Default testing parts at autozone.

my engine won't start and i can't seem to figure out what's wrong. it happend when i changed the ecu now whateve ecu i put in it the engine won't start all the way. so i'm going to pull the starter, ignition coil, distributor and alternator and take them to autozone for testing. does anyone know how simple or hard it is to take these parts off? what should i be looking out for when doing this. i think the hardest part is the alternator with the belt and stuff or am i wrong?

Alright.... I dont think you should rip your car aprt, but instead look at the ECU.. If it rna fine before, then it should not change from an ECU... You could have blwon both ecu's by not dis the battery... You might wanna check the wiring if you did any mods to it... Last but not least... Make sure you connect ecu and screws which r often grounds! Then, reconnect power to battery and try and crank... I wouldnt take the rest apart for nothing.. They should be fine... But, if you want to... By all menas, have fun.. Hell of a lot of work to find out they are all good.... I would jusy tow it up there as most parts can be tested on car... But 4 hours of work to remove all that sounds fun to me!

you are right. i was gettng desperate and wasn't thinking straight.

is there a particular area to check on the ecu to see if it is burnt? is there a place i can take my ecu's to get them checked? i don't suppose autozone tests these too?

I couldnt tell you that, but I cna tell you I know general stuff about cars..... I know the problem starts and ends from where you created it.... If you alter something and it causes a problem, then check everything associated with it....

I think the hammer says it all.... You live and you learn.... You might be lucky and it isnt toast, but you might not... Try to disconnect the battery and then hook it up and reconnnect the battery!
