Yes it can be repaired. Whether you'll like the way it looks after the repair is a different question. When you do go to repair it, make sure that the resin you use will harden clear (almost all of them say they do but still have a yellow tint, so test out a few). If nothing else you can repair it and paint it
I had the same question. My hood has a crack in it from where my wastegate hit orginally. I was wondering if I could just sand out the crack and then reresin it? I would then need to reclear it correct?
It will look like *** in my opinion, I would repair it and paint it. Carbon Fiber hood not painted=fasion. Carbon fiber hood painted=function. Carbon fiber dont buy it for looks, paint it!!!

Then again, one might argue the true hardcore way is to leave it unpainted. Paint = extra wieght and extra expenses (expenses that could be put towards improving the car in more important ways.)

i like the other kind of hardcore......
Well, if you like the other kind of hardcore, better do it right. Get the hood repaired, completely painted, and place all those emission info stickers, etc. that are under the OEM hood, in the exact same spots on the CF hood. I guess that would be the other hardcore.
Carbon Fiber is very strong durable material, and if you cracked it, you did not get the real thing, you got a cf "look-a-like" hood, which is actually made out of fiberglass.
If you hit a car at 150mph T bone style, and if you had the real CF hood, your hood would just pop off and fly and stumble on teh ground and still remain in its orginal shape, just broke the mounts off.

the hood did not break on impact and i was surprised. it took a beating but the suv did swipe the hood at 40 mph and chipped it a bit. its not a scratch for sure. i dunno what to do.
