EG FogLights Wires Question (VTEC, I need you to come in :P ) Pics Inside
well, got some time today to put in my foglights to my new HOnDA bumper hehehe
here are some pics:
I didn't need the template to cut, it was pretty easy, i used some drill bits and cutter, that's it. I will need to re-route my intercooler piping before I can put these on....
Here is the question, there is a little plug from the Foglight Switch Harness, does that go into the fuse box?? if so, where on the fuse box?? would I just need to plug it in?? or what?? i looked at the helm's, there is nothing as *foglights fuse* or something like that... here is the pic of the plug, help plz
thanks alot
Edit, these foglights made by DEPO, got them on ebay

If you have the directions for the foglights they show you in there.
Maybe TurBoXBirD16 could help ya out with that.

So those are OEM Honda fogs? How much do they go for?
I know they make knock off versions...I wonder how those fit. And how did you go about installing them? You just cut out the whole small grill?

yes, i got them off ebay for around 90 bucks shipped, i forgot the exact price
comparing this to a HOnDA, I have never installed a HOnDA fogs, but these DEPOs are good one, very nice quality, very goof fit, just like OEM !! well worth the money !!!
I am going to snap more pictures now of the back and out and everything of the cutting stuff, but probably my foglights are blocking all the view already
as for dimensions, give me a min, i will go grab it

the plate is around 9" wide and 4" high... it's hard to tell the exact measurements coz it's not a triangle... but u get the idea !
as for cutting, basically DON'T CUT THOSE HOLES, if you cut those holes, you are done... just cut the middle part out, put the fogs in and look then just keep cutting
it's really hard to teach u how, just take ur time... and there are some solid lines on the bumper that tells u where to cut on the left and right...
this is a really good unit, hopefully it's gonna be working
edit: i can't upload the pics now, i will do it tomorrow

let me know how the wiring goes?
thanks.

TurBoXBirD16 did you get those fogs from "Matrix Racing" off Ebay? If so, I got the exact same kit from them a week ago and I was totally impressed with the quality. I cant remember exactly how much Honda wants for the OEM lights but its over $200 and I only paid $76 for them off Ebay. The strange thing about the price is the fact that even Matrix Racing wanted $150 for this kit on their website, yet they sold them on Ebay for $76, I couldnt figure that one out! So, if anyone wants a set of these just keep checking on Ebay, youll definitely save some money and get a really nice kit for cheap and I promise you that youll be happy with the DEPO brand kit.
there are a series of option ports above the fuse box beneath the dash. one of them is switched to turnon whenthe car is in access, one for hot always, and one for acc1 position. just test and plug in whichever one serves your needs

Alright I am at work right now and don't have the ability to run outside currently, but it should be about 5 ports I believe near the fuse box under the dash. I believe I plugged into the second or third one from the right. Only problem is I believe I was upside down so off memory it is hard to see the picture in my head, but it is near the middle but closer the the left hand side if you are right below the fuse box looking up.
Hope this helps, IM me and I will give you the exact one after 7:30.

No, they should all fit that port, just another hour and some odd minutes and I will have the answer for you.
EDIT: If you place it in the wrong one you will know when you turn the lights on because it will be completely weird turning them off and on or sometimes they may come on when they are supposed to be off and vice versa. Essentially the foglights should come on when the headlights or corners are on and turn off when the lights are off, anything else would mean it is not installed correctly, unless purposely by-passing that oem way.

something i would like to know ..i got the foglights themselves and nothing else, no wiring or nothing.. how do they connect to each other and how they route themselves into the cabin and it seems they are powered from the fuse box(?) and then how does the button to power them go wired into the mix ?

The brown plug should go into an in-line fuse wire harness near the steering column under the dash if I remember correctly. Depo, Esuse, and Honda foglights all have unique wiring harnesses. I'll double check when I get off work...

they brown plug, goes into the fuse box under the steering column. there is row of extra plugs on the top of the fuse box.. take a test light and use the one that goes on with the running lights.. there should be like 4-6 extra plugs, so if you just slam it in, there is a chance that it wont work....
so there is a port when the running lighs are on, it will have power??
well, then maybe i can just plug in each and see which one works, then it's fine??
thanks for all guys
i installed all the wires today, just waiting for my pipes change, then i will have my fogs !!! yea !!
oh ****.. my cousin broke that relay !!! let me show u a pic later, i just want to see if I can still use that relay ! ?

here is how the broken relay looks :
Can I still use it with some electrical tape wrapping it?? I konw I should spend a few bucks to buy one, but i am afraid canadian tires dosn't have it
I wanted to do some *wiring instructions* at the beginning, but it was too cold for me to do it slowly and take pictures at the same time..
so i started with 2 pics, then nothing else.. sorry guys, i will try to explain though:
in this picture, there is a foglights wire harness, where it connects to both foglights, but on each end of the harness, there is something u need to connect, for this picture here, you will need to connect a ground, and a power INTO the switch harness, so when you turned on the switch, the relay will let the fog to have power.
As in this picture, it's the other end of the foglight harness, there is a relay and a fuse and a power wire, you need to connect the power to the main battery, and that's it..
As for the foglights switch harness, you will need to connect to the foglights' wire as I said above, then you will need to find a ground, then that little brown plug to plug into the fuse box for fuse, and that's it. you got yourself aset of foglights !! yahoo !
it's very very very simple to run the wires, it's WAY WAY easier than I expect !!
Thanks for all the help guys, I think i will figure out where should the brown plug goes, but if you guys can tell me the exact port to plug, that would be grealy appreciated
