Stock block, stock sleeves, wiseco forged pistons

I am running that setup, we had a discussion a while back, concerning the sleeving and all. The car is still running great, 2000 miles into the motor life. There is no signs of scarring, or anything out of the ordinary. She is running great. I'll keep you updated, I am just putting money away for the turbo setup.
How much boost are you gonna be able to run on those stock sleeves? Are those pistons coated? Also, how much money is saved by not resleeving the block?
well this is interesting because i have heard form every decent source that the coated sleeve in the h series motor will form like a weld to the forged piston when it gets real hot (im a little foggy on the details ive just been told numerous times to resleeve with forged pistons) like someone else asked is the piston coated?

But never the less that picture doesnt look pretty!
I told them at JE I wanted to leave my H23 block stock and run a 12:1 JE He gave me a Wisco Piston ring and said I would be fine, as long as the machine work was done well..

Guys, if anything was going to go wrong, it would have happened already. The car has seen a road trip (extended running time) and has been driven hard on a daily basis. Like I said, I'll keep you posted, but all looks well.
satan_srv-oil consumption is fine, I broke it in on mobil 1 20w-50, keeps good oil pressure, low temp, and hasn't used any oil yet.
Toretto-My block is a H22A1 so it is a closed deck style block. With it being a solid design, I'm going to give it hell, and tell you guys when she blows. If all goes well, I won't have to tell you then. The pistons are not coated, but from what wiseco tells me, they are tapered and use a special ring design. As far as money saved, I wouldn't call it that yet, but after it is boosted and everything is running well, I'll tell you. Still to young in the project to go telling everybody it is ok.
GudeH23a-Wasn't that pictres of a s2000 block? I understand that they use the same material (FRM), but if you compare the skirt on those pistons (I believe those are JE?? Gas vented??) to the skirt design on the wiseco, I believe you'll see a difference. Tell me different if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure there is a design difference.

I am runnig a closed deck H23 with JE 12:1 Pistons and They gave me a wisco set of rings, Do you think I will be ok ??

So from what everyone has heard the wisco piston ring is all a guy really needs. That is what teh guy from JE hooked me up with .

Who did you hear that from? Was it some one who knows there stuff?
Because I wanted to go with the JE rings and he told me NO . I will get you the wisco?

I always laugh when I see that picture. Its been talked about on more than one occasion. Improper clearnance is what cause that, not the forged piston.
it can also have to do with the piston material u are using.A forged piston is not just a forged piston.They make them in two different types of aluminum. I also think that the clearances can be a problem also if they are not what the PISTON manufacturer rocommends...not the factory specs! But keep us informed anyway on how things go,im interested also.

I'm a little confused...Doesn't Wiseco make those pistons that are suppose to be compatible with FRM sleeves? I thought there was more to it than just different rings? Are these the pistons you are running?
