Just got camera back...Pics of Benen lower tie and DIY trunk bar
These two mods made a huge difference in how the car handles. The back end feels so much more planted to the ground. The only bad side is now it feels like the front end needs some stiffening, but I have to decide between the Benen 3-point front strut bar and the Neuspeed one. Also I had to use a lot of washers as spacers to get the Benen bar to fit over the ITR sway bar bushing bracket. Anyone else had that problem? Well here are the pics, tell me what you guys think.
Just for laughs I threw in a pic of the car I drove before Teg!!
Hell yeah, 1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with an Edelbrock carb and Flowmaster dual exhaust. Boy was that a difference when I got the Teg!!

I like that Benen tie bar, if you don't mind how much was it? My main concern with a tie bar was how much of a pain would it be with my itr r sway bar, so I never ended up getting one. Like the trunk bar too
I got the Benen from a local speed shop for $129. IMO the Benen bar is worth the money and the hassel of installing it.
looks real good, i think alot of people have alot of problems with mounting a tie bar that will work with different sway bars... thats y i kinda like the comptech combo, but benen definitely has some really nice products. I doubt that teh washer trick will have any negative affect, but you may want to consider going to a hardware store and purchasing one of those metal spaces that looks like a thick *** washer and use that instead of a whole bunch of little washers. my .02
Nice, had I not just spent a bunch of money on tires I'd pick up a rear tie bar also.
You know those wheel locks do you no good in the trunk right?

Looks like a nice set-up. I'll be doing a rear Comptech Tiebar ($200 without the swaybar, cross your fingers it's in the mail) and ITR sway bar along with a ITR trunk bar in the spring (both sitting under my bed). Should be sweet!!

An easier alternative is to the have a socket wrench handy in your car at all times, if you ever need to remove your spare tire easier.

That is an excellent idea.
I trimmed the board so that it fits under the trunk bar. However it takes a lot of effort to get it under, and is next to impossible to remove.
So, I am going to tackle this project in the next week with your idea of the hinges.

Yeah true....but what I'm actually going to do is some time, either during spring break or during the summer, I'm going to take out the cardboard floor and replace it with plywood cut to fit the trunk and with hinges infront of the sub so I can just fold up the wood to get to my tire. Also I would make a cut out for the trunk bar to the wood would lie flat. I just have to get the time to tackle this project. Right now school is OWNING me!!
