Default ECU tuning worth the money or not?

Please help me out with this particular question:
I am running with a 98 JDM ITR swap with stock JDM ITR ECU. Vtec hit at 6K and speed limiter is a big problem. Is it worth it to reprogram ECU that will cost $300 dollars? here are some benefit after reprogram ecu:

5600 rpm VTEC switchover
9200 rpm rev limit (or custom rev limit).
Optimized fuel & timing.
Speed limiter removed.
(Optional) Single oxygen sensor.

also do you know any other place that tune ecu for cheaper in southern cali?

hey thanks for reply but still not much help
if i get the SFC, it only help on remove speedlimiter and fuel but the cost still the same or higher.
for hondata, i have to convert to odb1 in order to reprogram the ecu which even cost more.
anyone has a better idea?

you will need to convert to obd1 reguardless since you want a repgrammed ecu.
or are you saying someone is reprogramming your jdm ITR ecu? and if so.. who?

If that is all your after, it will be cheaper and better(No piggyback boxes or jumper harnessess) to just have the your ecu reprogrammed. I am not from the so cal area, but I know that dynospot(No Cal) can do all those things for you also. I think cost is about the same everywhere for OBD2 ecu reprogramming. Its the cost of the OBD2 chip that governs the price of the reprogramming, as the acutal reprogramming is the same for all Honda ecu.
