Default Slamming a 4th GEN 17" wheels

Alright, as you can see I am lowering my 4th gen... I have some questions obviously....

First off, I would like some input on what other 4th's got as far as tire size and distance lowered maybe even w/ a pic linked to it...... I am NOT sure if I want it slammed, but I want the gap in the wheel wells gone and I want it to ride nice and low.... I am afraid of bottoming out, but I have stock and I have done that... Maybe a happy medium at most... Looking for almost slammed though, if not...

Secondly, I am looking for a good price on some cheaper springs and maybe even struts(most likely cause I dont wanna come back and do it again once stock is shot!).... I wanna drop it w/o spending a pretty penny or sacrificing my ride..... I am nto gonna auto-x in it or anything.... Might run the strip at most.... Just round town and stuff.... Smooth ride, but cna take a bit of a beating...

***Third, my real problem is my tires got 10k on them.... They are 215/45/17 and I dont want to have to buy some new ones right off... I hear alot about the adjustables and all, but can I lower my lude now w/ some of them and slam it later with smaller tires? What kind of price range am I looking there?

I AM NEWBIE to suspension so get over it.... Just looking for some advice.... Dont send me looking at 1k + equipment plz.... If I was going that route I would be riding the air springs right away! I am looking maybe 200-600 or so price range(Give me a headups if you think there is no way, but I know there is).. Maybe if anyone has some used ones they are going to sell in the next few months I would definently be interested.... I am goign to research and be smart about this the best I can... I dont plan on purchasing to mid march or so... Maybe a bit sooner or later... Do the research first right? Shows I am not just some dumbass looking for some help! Well, not totally...

the problem with lowering cars is the alignment issue. your camber gets way screwy. your camber is what eats away at your tread on the inside of your tires. i suggest buying a camber kit and getting it installed along with some ground controlls all at once. dont lower your car then do the camber adjustment later... you just waste a set of tires.
good luck

you're rambling and not asking specific questions.

Tire size should remain the same if you choose the right tire and rim combo....

i have a 2" drop on my car with ADR 17".....If your worried about tire i would recomend getting a camber kit. My tires dont rub at all, but as with any lowered vehicle there is always the chance of bottoming out.

Thanks for letting me in on something I dont know....

Ok, I want to lower my 4th gen prelude. I have 215/45/17 tires right now... In the future I want to put on some smaller tires, but I want to lower my lude NOW. I got about 15-20k left on these tires. I am looking for some advice on what to get. I am at a price range of about 200-600. I would prefer to stay at the lower prices. I wasnt to know what others have on their ludes and what you would recomend. Maybe a good set of adjustables that are cheap, but ride good for daily driving. NO auto-x or anything here. So, springs or adjustables? Which will be better and cheaper? Will it be better to use some adjustables so I can lower it more with smaller tires on there, or should I just lower it a base height and be happy? BTW, how much should and can I lower it. I am looking for really low, almost slammed. As far down as my 45 tires will allow me with no rubbing. I hope thats easier. If I dont make sense, give me some help on what I am going to need.

The problem as I see it is the 215/45's......I'd say if you want to be slammed, just get some KYB AGX shocks for $320 and some Neuspeed Race springs for $150......that is the setup I had on mine and it worked great, but I had to raise the car back up to clear my downpipe and 3 inch exhaust But I had to run 215/40's because I guarantee that 45's would have rubbed.....
You can't get springs that will slam the car and still use stock shocks, any drop 2+ inches will destroy stock shocks in around 6 months or so.....
Cheapest option would be to get some nice Neuspeed Sports for $150ish and just run those with stock shocks......
Best option is to just spend the money and get something that will last....if you like the car and plan on keeping it for at least a couple of years more, get some skunk2 adjustables and some KYB's for $630 or so.....that's the setup I'm currently running and I love it I'm not sure exactly what the spring rates are on the skunk2 springs, but they must be really close to my neuspeed race springs....
Good Luck!
Brian

Email me if you want to see a pic of the car with the Race springs on it......

CHRIST, the 18" s look bad as hell... Thats the look I want, but I got 17's and am keeping them... How cna I get that look, or can I? I think his kit adds a bit too, but ya! I think I am going the neuspeeds and agx's.... I think thats what I read.... Sounds like what I am looking for.... Can anyone tell me if they will rub? I wanna stay away from the CAMBER kit... $$$ is short.... But I wnat to do this so bad, and I cant see spending 700 on loweirng my car for now or the next year... If I run into some money I will change em of course and sell mine... Next question... Has anyone seen a used set for sale of these or something similar? I got a month to wait before I buy some new... If I cna get em used I would prefer it!
