Default Lowering and Wheel Diameter

I just lowered my car 2". Now I have no wheel gap
But.......when I make a U-turn it rubs. but what can you do.

My Question is If I made my wheel diameter bigger by an inch would it rub even more or would it be the same with more road clearence??

Cause I see Preludes in "Import Tuner" that have 2.5" lowering with 18" wheels that look like they have enough wheel clearence and road clearence..

Logically when you increase your wheel size by an inch, you want to keep the overall diameter of the wheel tire combo the same (i.e. a smaller tire sidewall), so it doesn't affect your speedometer, gear ratios, etc. So if you do it right increasing the wheel size by an inch won't change anything about ground clearance, or rubbing on sharp turns.

Yeah I know that part but i'm wondering if I do increase the over all diameter would affect the wheel clearence and/or road clearence.

If anyone has stories about their lowered accord and different tire and wheels size,
I want to hear about them..............Help me make the right decision

If you increase the overall diameter your road clearance will be greater, but there will be less wheel clearence. personally i don't think this is the best idea though

Got the wires today, Thanks mang

Heres a few things to try to help the rub:

Is it rubbing on the inside? try adding a thin wheel spacer and see if it helps.

Another thing to try is to fashion a steering limiter out of a small rubber hose
clamped on the tie rod (Be careful, your turn radius will be much bigger!)

A larger front sway bar will also help by reducing body roll.

Wheel width and offset, and tire width affects clearance more so than wheel dia.

Good luck and thanks again

so there i was, dropping my car off the jack for the first time. i had converted my car to 92-95 civic suspension. when i noticed that my 16 inch wheels were all stuffed in the wheel wells i new i was low. I proceeded to smoke my rear tires in 2 weeks. so i got a camber kit only too find that when you flat dump a car and you line everything back up you start to smack things like a-arms into the top of the fender well so i cut that out and now it clears into the engine compartment just shy of coming thru the hood
