Hey I wana get a really creditable person (like a mechanic) to tell me if Acuras are really dependable passed 150,000 miles???? As long as the car is taken car of with oil changes and all that stuff. Is it true??? I need to know in order to get my GS-R

do a compression test on it first to be sure!

but, I've seen honda motors go well over 200k...

 

I had 140K on my LS Motor (96) and it was still going strong. Only problem was the gaskets on the valve cover, exhaust cam, and oil pan were starting to leak. But it wasn't brning oil, and I still got >26 mpg on the highway.

Just dont drag race and keep her fluids up, and she'll treat you right.

BTW my car redline often, but I never drag raced, and it was usually topping out 2nd and 3rd gear, and I think 4th half a dozen times .

 

Oh ya and the only absolute thing I had to replace was the OEM radiator at about 90K miles (you know the crappy plastic design)...~$150

 

no car is gonna be perfect at past 150000 miles. stuff wears out and breaks. tegs r pretty good in that nothing goes catastrophically wrong and as long as regular maintence is done i dont see why u couldnt go over 200K
