CRX rear speakers make a noticeable improvement?
I am thinking about installing rear speakers in my CRX. I don't even have the mounting brackets back there right now, but I saw Crutchfield includes them for free with a speaker purchase. I was wondering if the guys that didn't have any back there and installed some felt it was worthwhile (assuming you already had a really good set of front speakers). Is the music clearer, or just louder? Also, the CRX is one of the only cars I know of to actually have the rear speakers face forward toward the driver and passenger instead of sideways, so I was wondering how that affects the sound as well.
i think they make a huge difference.. i am looking for some of those rear mounts at the minute myself... i had them in my si... should snagged em.. ahh well.
I had some rears in my Civic hatch and I took them out (the previous owner put nice speakers in the back and **** speakers in the front) and moved those speakers to the front. I can tell a difference, but it's not a big deal.
Crutchfield also sells those mounts seperately from the speakers for $8.00... The Honda ones I saw on ebay usually went for $20.00 or so, and a Honda dealership would rape you for them, so it seemed like a pretty good deal.
i have component 6 1/2 polks in the front running 90 watts each and regular polk 6 1/2 in the rear running off of my alpine 7894. The speakers in the back dont make too much of a difference IMO. Not really worth it to spend extra money on it unless you're going hardcore... use the money you save from buying the rear speakers and get some good component front speakers and a small amp to push it
