Default GSR&ITR weight stuff.

I know there is another thread talking about weight reduction but can you guys give me the difference between the stock ITR and GSR in therms of weight? Why does the ITR weight less? Of course skip on the obvious things like AC vs noAC. thanks guys and gals

lack of some of the sound deadening(ie. dashboard insulator)
lack of a sunroof(big weight reducer)

Yet it's still only 7 lbs lighter than a standard GS-R 2 door with leather, sunroof, ect.

Actually for the 2001 GSR and Type R it's:

2667--GSR
2639--Type R

28 lbs difference. Still, I could remove my seats and weigh that much.

You have to take into consideration that the GSR may be a few pounds or so heavier than the Type R, but Type R has:

-LSD
-Bigger and better Brakes, better ABS.
-Chassis is reinforced in the pillars.
-Larger Sway Bar, Tie Bar, Trunk bar

Sure the GSR is a bit heavier, but the Type R has bigger, better parts and still weighs less than the GSR.

There are a bunch of other things not mentioned that also make it superior.

Yeah, and I add an Intake on my car and do a couple DIY mods and I'm already quicker than stock ITR's. Granted, I'm not saying GS-R's are better, cause I'd love to have one, it's just my side of the argument cause it's fun.

GS-R is nice, but the Type-R just has so many better parts. Sure you can swap out your stock GS-R parts for better aftermarket parts, but the GS-R can never have the Type-R's Chassis.

I ws thinking the same thing. But it was taken from Autopedia...

In the true spirit of racing, a select number of comfort and convenience features on the Integra Type R have been eliminated in an effort to minimize the vehicle's overallweight. These include items such as a sunroof, vanity mirrors, cruise control, rear window wiper/washer. Air conditioning becomes optional equipment. Other items that haTie been eliminated for weight considerations include dashboard insulator, transmission mount , drive shaft and shifter dynamic damper, and meltsheet for the floor stamping.

Sunroof out of a 94+ teg isn't really that heavy. It was much lighter than i expected thats for sure. Sunroof outta a 88-91 hatch is much heavier. Just posting pointless useless facts, dont mind me.

The important things that the type R has to make it light weight are moving parts. It doesnt matter if its only a couple pounds diff in overall weight with a GSR type R Rims, Flywheel, Pistons, Con Rods(i think), break system as well as suspension n engine upgrades makes every little thing count even more.
