Default anyone interested in a 5th gen 4-1 header

i recently found that hotshot corp made a 4-1 header for an h22 and was designed for el'natural. unfortunatly it doesnt fit on our cars even if you modify it. its just not possible. its only meant for an h22 swap into an civic/crx

but.....

i have been talking to a rep from hotshot and they would be interested in making a 4-1 header for a reasonable price (sub 1000$) if they can locate a person from or around irwindale california to test fit and produce the header. after that prototype is made the rep said they would be available for sale to anyone who wanted them without needing your car there. i think this is an awesome chance for someone with a 5th gen to help the rest of us out. cause lets face it there arent to many decent header choices out there for us and the ones that are halfway decent either need hacked up, cost a fortune, or have been in testing for years. this is a chance to get something to market right now.

i personally would do it with my car but im in pittsburgh pennsylvania right now working and its impossible. hopefully someone else would like to.

thanks
ric

4-1 won't work, unless you wanna cut huge whole out of your subframe.... Ask me and SMSP how we know.. The new 4-2-1 has proven to provide more HP...

yea but when is SMSP actually going to release their headers for the 5th gen ludes? I remember a while back they were designing and dynoing one of there prototypes but all of a sudden it just disappeared.

BTW: I live close to irwindale I go there to run at the 1/8 track.

I'm sorry I haven't responded to every email, just been a bit swamped. I'll be starting the first production header the week of the 24th. I'll also be doing a cat and cat back system for a 5th gen. I suspect the only differences between the 4th and 5th gen cat back systems will be length, which is no biggy.

as far as i understand it.. the only differences between the 4th and 5th gen headers are the lengths. there has been word on the net that people have modified greddy headers for 5th gens.

Front engine mount and cross member are the same. Cat back tubing configuration looks about the same also. Anyone know the wheel base for both cars?

look im not here to argue what will work and what wont work so if that what you wish to do then you'll be by yourself on it.

i am here in fact to tell people that there is an oppurtunity for someone living in california to have thier car be a donor for a prototype header. thats it, nothing more, if someone wants to do it cool... if not, cool. im in no way affiliated with or give a **** about hot shot i only contacted them to see if thier h22 header could be modified to fit a prelude and they said they would be willing to make one.

Just letting you know, they are going to look at it and say "no way, without cutting that subframe" =~)

Ok, I spoke to someone at Hotshot, and I'm dropping off my car on March 20th. I also doubt that they will be able to make it fit, but I'm willing to let them have my car for the weekend to find out.

for a 4 to 1 to work the collector must be square (read> the pipe's can't be side by side, but must make a box shape). There isn't any room in the 5th gen to pull this off. If there was, I'm sure Mugen and all the other high end tuners out there would have made a 4 to 1. Maybe someday someone will figure out a work around, but with the space limitations it's nearly, if not completely, impossible

well thats cool, yeah truthfully i really dont care what the header is as long as its better then the **** thats out right now. 4-1, 4-2-1 does it really matter as long as it makes power and is affordable?
