How does the dash look in your Civic? Is there a pocket underneath the radio or not?? Also what year is the car it is going in to?

Ok I am a little unclear on how it will mount in there personally but as long as you have an idea on how you want to do it, then thats fine. For the harness, if its from a 99-00 SI, you will need a reverse harness of the 1721 and also a 1720 side to wire into the 1721 reverse harness. Once those harnesses are wired up together, then you can plug in to your car side of the harness.

thanks. sorry for all the complications. where would i be able to buy this harness. and the harness is a reverse harness of a 1721. i really dont have much knowledge of this, but pluging in the harness is pretty straight foward. what exactly would i ask for if i went to a store?

You would ask them for a reverse harness of the Honda plug 1721 and then you will need just a regular Honda 1720 Plug to plug into your harness after the 1721 if wired into it.

ok, we did this to my friends del sol, fabacate our own harness..
first we went to autozone, and picked up a aftermarket female plug for the 93-95 honda civic.
then we went to the junk yard and picked up the male part of the SI OEM headunit.

i went online and got the diagram, and wired up the wires..
i found this site: http://www.jdmfan.com/index.php?info...=radio_pinouts
the wires doesnt look right, so i tried to wire it up, i end up frying my friends headunit. on the diagram, it said that one of the speaker wires was a ground, and another speaker wire was power. so i guess i looped the power through the speaker channels, and fried that ****.

day 2.
got another head unit online, and went to another site and found the perfect diagram of the wires, and wired it up perfect.
the site we got the diagram from: http://www.carstereohelp.com/wireharness.htm
seems like dead links
email them and ask for the pages.

anyways, i soldered everything, shrink wrap, and it worked perfect.
it looked like a obd2 to obd1 harness hah, more like gen 6 to gen 5 audio harness
