Input requested for 6G civic suspension mod
I'm new to the Honda scene so please bear with me. I have stock 6G civic (D15B) and am currently trying to spec out a list of suspension pieces. Pertinent information: it's a daily driver and I will be transplanting either a JDM B16B or B18C later this year. My goal is to lower the car perhaps 1-1.5", reduce understeer, while maintaining neutrality. My questions are as follow:
What spring rates do I get FF/RR?
What combination of sway bars/strut bars work without making the ride overly harsh?
If I lower the car 1" do I need to install adjustable upper control arms to fix the neg camber or is the change insignificant?
Are there brands that are significantly better than others or are the differences marginal and/or cosmetic?
The civic is without a tach. Is the wiring harness common amongst all 6G civics? Can I simply plug in a gauge pod from a civic/integra that has one to give up?

All 6gen Civics in the US have d16's, I am pretty sure that is the same case in Canada, but I could be wrong. Sway bars and strut bars won't really make your ride more harsh, the spring and shock combination will have more effect on ride comfort. There are so many parts available, it is hard to sum up exactly what is right for you in just a few words. Just to start you off, some reputable companies that make suspension components: H&R, Eibach, Neuspeed, Koni, Suspension Techniques, APEXi, Tein, that is only a few.
Personally, I have had APEXi WS coilovers, Neuspeed strut bar, Susp. tech. sway bar. Used for street driving basically, I was pretty happy with all of the parts.

I have a 6th Gen and I've had numerious setups. I've had Neuspeed Sport on Tokico Blues, Tein NA's, and now Custom GC w/ Koni Yellows. I've found if you want a neutral car set it up so that the front has lower spring rate than the rear. Here is my setup. GC 400/500 on Koni Yellow (out of box), ST front and rear Sway and stock civic si front strut bar. My car does pretty good on the street and even better in autox. Try it i think you will like it.
Thanks for the suggestions. And like I said, I'm new to this so it may well be that its the D16 and not D15B.
