crazy stuff going on with my tranny
ok, when i first put my motor in my car. the only tranny i had was a dx tranny. i knew eventually i'd swap in a si tranny, so i did. with the dx tranny it was running 3000rpm at 70mph, and i know a si is supposed to run 3500rpm at 70mph. so i put in the si tranny, and it still runs 3000rpm at 70. i know for a fact tat this is a si tranny, because it was in my old crx, and it ran 3500 at 70 in that car. what te hell is the deal??? i'm lost...any ideas?
1. Your tach could be off.
2. Your tires are of different size.
3. Would say it's another DX tranny, but if you know it isn't, then it isn't.
Those are about the only things affecting it.

don't worry dude you are saving money, either way, you may want to check the gear ratios in between the trannies that may be able to tell you something. Chiltons manual may have it, not sure. if not call honda
