Default Help!! hatch problem

I just picked up my EG today because I had it painted yellow. When I got home I discovered that my hatch isn't locking up. Any idea what's wrong with it? It was functioning perfectly when I left it in the shop. They didn't remove the hatch or anything. Is there a lock that they might have turned that it made it not to lock? Help please!!!

You mean the door? Both doors? You tried to lock with the key?

Just for kicks, take a look at the latching mechanism and see if it's in the open position or you could even pull the release lever inside (next to the gas door release) a few times. It sounds like it's either not open or it isn't hooking over when the glass is shut. Might also be a little gummed up (wd-40?). Just some suggestions.

Good Luck and enjoy the new paint.

Mine does that too b/c the former owner dented the hatch by backing into something.

Try getting the glass to close onto the tailgate and then pushing in the tailgate to close it. Always works for me

Make sure that the lever isnt stuck in the
up position. If it gets stuck in the up position
the glass will not latch to the tailgate part of
the hatch.

Make sure everything is aligned properly. Both upper and lower hatches have a range of adjustment on the hinge bolts. loosen them slightly to move them around.

The lever that you can pull up to open the trunk, right next to the one for the gas tank door, on the floor by your feet
