Default Painting...

I know this might be alittle off topic but I wondering if anyone here has automotive paint experience. Or if anyone can tell me where they went and had their race car painted. The exterior will basically already be sanded and primered with the interior gutted, just needs to be painted. I know you get what you pay for but since it's a race car, the least expensive, the better.

If the prep work's done, I say take it to Peach, Maaco, or the cheapest place you can find.

I've heard horror stories from Peach/Maaco paint jobs. But I do see what you mean about the price. Has anyone had any experience with Peach or Macco?

The prep work is the hard part about painting.
If you have already done that, you might as well get a sprayer and do it yourself.
There should be a few books on auto body painting at your local library.
I once spent an afternoon there reading a few, very interesting actually.

I used to think this would be the case until I did i a couple of times. I am now convinced that anyone with a job is time/money ahead to pay someone to do prep and paint work for them and spend the hours earning your own $$. The problem with taking a prepped car to a shop is that they are VERY unlikely to warrantee their work - and for good reason - so when it leaps off in large pieces (experience speaking) you are dorked.
